Throughout the month, various events and campaigns are organized to advocate for increased funding and research dedicated to finding better treatments and ultimately, a cure. By raising awareness and promoting early detection, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month aims to bring hope, strength, and resources to children battling cancer and their families.

Heavy backpacks can lead to back, neck, and shoulder pain in kids. The AAP recommends a backpack weigh no more than 5–10% of your child’s body weight. We are absolutely thrilled to introduce Mackenzie Cunnius, APRN—who goes by “Mack”! ✨
Mack brings a passion for pediatric care and is excited to meet all of our amazing patients and families.
Mack Cunnius grew up on Long Island New York, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s College.
He began his clinical career in the emergency department at South Shore University Hospital. After two years of hands-on experience, he relocated to Florida to pursue his Doctor of Nursing Practice at Florida Gulf Coast University. During his doctoral studies, Mack met his wife, Julia. He values time with his family and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and trips to the beach. He is also an avid New York Yankees fan and loves attending baseball games.
