Hello again, folks.

So, I think I’ve gotten in what I comfortably can before my hiatus, considering everything life related I still have to adjust for as well. Thank you all for reaching out in whatever capacity you did, it truly meant everything to read what you wrote. I know 2 short weeks was really not a ton of notice and believe me, I was I had more time to get to each and every single one of you. If I can steer you in a direction or give you some recommendations for the future, I can absolutely do that. The guys here at Altered Tattoo co are more than capable of taking great care of anything you would have asked me to do, and they’ll probably do it better anyway so please reach out to any of them. There are a ton of others who i am more than happy to recommend as well if i feel thier abilities and personalities line up best with you and your needs. I promise to steer yall in THE BEST direction i can.

I am very much looking forward to having a super rad last few weeks so come on over to the shop if you’d like to say hi and bu****it for a bit. I’ll be around for the most part minus a few hours and a day here and there. Reach out to make sure. 😎

Hey there, everyone… I need a little bit of your time here please.

There’s no super awesome way to say this so, I’m just gonna rip the proverbial bandage.

I am taking a break from tattooing.

There are soooooo many reasons for this decision… some are painfully obvious but most are incredibly personal. Fact is, everything I’ve been through recently has left me with a new normal and i HAVE to adapt to that. I have appointments booked for the next few weeks but i do still have some time left to fill in that timeframe, so if any of you reading this want to get a project finished up or one last little one for the road, now is the time to speak up because this is “last call” for now.

I don’t know if this is a short hiatus, a long hiatus or full blown retirement but what i do know is that this is necessary. For me… for my family…this is good.
I don’t get to do this exactly on my own terms, but I do get to say when, and for that, i am grateful.

Thank you all for such an awesome 17 years of making debatably rad tattoos… it’s been an incredible ride laughing, crying, listening, making friends and for everything you all and tattooing have blessed me with… I am truly grateful.

Altered Tattoo Company and the guys press on and in my absense, I’d highly recommend reaching out to any of them for rad tattoo work so please do.

So in closing here, books are open for a very short little while so if you want one last hoorah with me, man, I’d fu***ng LOVE to hang out so reach out asap. I don’t have an exact date yet for when this happens so we can certainly talk if you’d like.

Anyway, enough from me for today. I have to do this y’all… and i really hope it’s not a long term thing but again, who knows. Many, many thank yous and much love to every single one of you.

After tattooing for the amount of time I have been, it’s fairly difficult to come in and ask me to do something I haven’t done before. (Challenge issued, btw 😉) Alicia walked in one day after some incredible mutual friends sent her my way and she floored me with such a simple request… but one that intrigued me so much. She was all smiles and we immediately started what turned into a really good conversation and visit with a bit of emotion and joy and ended with a new friend who left with the feet prints of her childhood best friend and loving compadre, Squeek. He was with her since she was a little girl and was ALWAYS glued to her shoulder everywhere they went. Wherever Alicia was, you could find Squeek perched right here at some point being goofy goofy.

It was a real pleasure getting to not only do my first set of bird feet prints after 17 years, but for such a rad bird like Squeek to have been the one I got to do it for.
Unfortunately, Squeek gained his forever wings…but he is still here, perched right on Alicia’s shoulder. Forever. Right where he should be.

I had a full half of a consult this am with a client I’ve spent 30+ hours with, before they realized I was me… so, I’m not a fan of doing this, I really hate the way I look atm, but apparently a lot of you aren’t aware of my current “look” after treatment and not eating very well over the last 8 months… this is just so you aren’t shocked when you come in for your appointment. On paper and according to tests, I’m healthy. I’m also still free and clear of “the big problem” but, I just gotta get the weight back on. Anyway…This is me now. 😬 it is what it is. We still here fightin’. 💪🏻

Now that the algorithm gods are appeased seeing a real human person… let’s get my books filled up. Email is the best way ([email protected]) but you can message me on fb and on Instagram as well. Chop chop.

Welp, for Star Wars day this year and I decided to p**s off every Kylo Ren lightsaber hater out there with this axe lightsaber wielding Viking Sith Lord fella. Wrap your brains around how this kyber crystal does that. Ha. We got a really good start on him but we stopped here and will be finishing him up later this month. Small coverup in there, but nothing crazy. Can’t wait to get this dialed in soon and thanks for looking! May the 4th be with you.

Half healed and half fresh pics of this Akhenaten piece for my today. Happy with how everything ended up coming together in the end. Upper arm half sleeve not done by me, but the lower forearm is and that’s viewable elsewhere in my photo gallery from a few years ago. The Nefertiti in the middle of the chest also not done by me.

This bums me out on current tattooing… this incredibly sweet client was completely taken advantage of by the person that did this tattoo originally. It’s incredibly small, yet, they were charged $450 for this about 6 months ago. For that kind of money, the work needs to be absolutely bulletproof and it needs to heal fu***ng perfect. I could go on forever about this but I’m going to stop and say that I’m happy to have been able to fix this up and finally make this client happy with their tattoo. Folks, PLEASE, pleeeeeeeeeease stop paying astronomical amounts of money for inferior tattoos… It is becoming a plague lately what some people are charging. It really makes me sick. Do your research, make sure you’ve communicated clearly and if you get a bad feeling, get the hell out of there. You aren’t obligated to get tattooed if you aren’t sure about it. Anyway, thanks for looking as always. Fresh, healed, fixed and side by side pics for your enjoyment. 🤘🏻
