We celebrated National Mammography Day with a little self-care, flowers, and a focus on breast health! 🩷

Our Lee Health Breast Health Centers welcomed patients for mammogram screenings and an afternoon dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of early detection.

From healthy food samples provided by the Lee Health Demonstration Kitchen to building beautiful flower bouquets, it was a wonderful opportunity to remind our community that taking care of your health matters!

Lung cancer can affect anyone, even those who have never smoked. 🫁

Following the recent news of Pope Leo XIV's diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma, a type of non-small cell lung cancer, and his surgery to remove part of his right lung, we're reminded of the importance of lung health, awareness, and early detection.

Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common type of lung cancer and can develop in both smokers and nonsmokers. Like many forms of lung cancer, it often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages, making it important to understand your risk factors and recognize potential warning signs.

At the Lee Health Cancer Institute, we're committed to raising awareness, encouraging early detection, and providing compassionate, advanced cancer care to our Southwest Florida community. 🤍

Join Lee Health on Friday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 p.m. and take an important step for your breast health by getting your mammogram screening.

Appointments will be available at participating Lee Health Breast Health Centers. While you’re there, enjoy healthy food samples from the Lee Health Demonstration Kitchen, build your own flower bouquet, and learn more about breast health and screening. 🌸

Screening mammograms are recommended every year for women starting at age 40. Early detection matters — when breast cancer is found early, the survival rate is 98%.
