๐๏ธ Learning Through Play at ABA Results!
Our current thematic unit is all about CAMPING, and our learners are practicing sight words with a fun game of Bingo!
Games can create fantastic opportunities to incorporate ABA while keeping learners engaged and motivated. During Bingo, our RBTs can target attending, receptive and expressive language, visual discrimination, scanning, following directions, waiting, turn taking, and reinforcement while also supporting each learnerโs individualized goals.
Best of all, learning through games provides lots of opportunities for repeated practice without making learning feel repetitive!
๐ ABA Tip for Home: Turn skills your child is currently learning into a game! Practice sight words with Bingo, numbers with a scavenger hunt, colors while playing I Spy, or receptive language by asking your child to find specific objects around the house. Pair correct responding and participation with praise, preferred activities, or other meaningful reinforcement.
ABA does not have to happen at a table. Some of the best opportunities for teaching, practicing, and generalizing skills happen while playing together!
