🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
We want to make our families aware of an active healthcare phone scam targeting patients and insurance members.
Scammers are using spoofing technology to make it appear that calls are coming from Blue Cross Blue Shield or even local healthcare providers, including ours. Their goal is to steal personal information such as:
• Insurance ID numbers
• Social Security numbers
• Financial information
⚠️ How the scam works:
• They may claim they are “verifying coverage”
• Offer “free” medical supplies or genetic testing
• Discuss medications
Please remember:
❌ Do NOT provide personal or insurance information during an unsolicited phone call.
❌ Do NOT press buttons or answer questions from suspicious callers.
✅ Hang up immediately if something feels off.
✅ If you are unsure, call your insurance company or healthcare provider directly using the number on your insurance card or official website.
Blue Cross has also warned that scammers frequently spoof their “Call Blue” number (888-630-2583). Legitimate representatives will not call you from this number requesting personal information.
