We are definitely gearing up for the Halloween season here at KRI! 👻

The residents have had so much fun enjoying caramel apples, creating rice krispy treats with fun Halloween sprinkles and candy eyeballs, and painting pumpkins!! 🎃

Today our residents went to a local favorite and made personal pan pizzas at Papa Don’s!

They enjoyed every bite!

Today our kids had the pleasure of meeting a local artist who has a very real story!

Stephen Toal has had an amazing journey through this life and shared how his creativity through art has helped him through addiction and maintaining his sobriety.

What an  inspiring and motivational  opportunity for our residents…

Even in this heat, our raised garden beds are thriving!!

We even have some watermelons growing by surprise!

Our residents help to keep them watered and weeded!

Our residents LOVE nature, so we definitely had to try this bird feeder recipe!

The residents made the bird feeders and then were able to choose where they wanted to put them outside! We’ve been observing the birds ever since we made them! 🕊️

Observing Mother Nature is such a wonderful way for us to smile! 🌞

What a fun week we’ve had at KRI! Our residents were able to tie-dye shirts to their liking, and then participate in a 5K!

Needless to say, Bubble Run/Walk 5K was a major hit with the kids!! 🫧

We had the pleasure of hearing Wesley DeHaven’s story this week and it was very impactful. He talked about doing “hard things” instead of choosing “easy things” and how your life can turn around and change into something so much more gratifying and rewarding. He talked about choosing happiness and gratitude over other less appealing things in life, and also being true to who you are.

Our residents listened intently and truly soaked in all the advice!

What an amazing experience!
