This is why I encourage parents to flip the bag over. 🫠

These are often eaten alongside pizza or other processed foods at lunch, and suddenly one meal contains a whole lot more than we realise.

Corn, refined oils, maltodextrin, added sugar, MSG, artificial colors Red 40 and Yellow 6, corn syrup solids and multiple flavor enhancers… all packed into one highly processed snack.

It’s not about perfection or never having chips. If you’re choosing chips, look for options with a shorter, simpler ingredient list.

Our kids are growing. Let’s give their bodies more of what they actually need. 🤍

Progress beats perfection. Every time. 🤍

When we decide to “eat healthier,” it’s tempting to think we need to change everything at once — cut out the sugar, ditch the takeaways, stop snacking, cook every meal from scratch…

But that usually isn’t sustainable.

You don’t have to completely overhaul your diet to start making a difference. Start with what feels manageable.

Add some protein to breakfast. Choose a higher-fibre option. Add a vegetable to dinner. Swap one sugary drink for water. Cook at home one extra night this week.

Small changes might not feel dramatic, but when you can actually keep doing them, they become habits. And those habits add up.

You don’t need a “perfect” diet. You need progress you can live with.

And if that New Year’s resolution didn’t quite go to plan… you don’t need to wait until January to try again.

That’s where I can help. I can help you look at what you’re eating now, identify realistic areas to improve, and build healthier habits that actually fit your life — without trying to change everything overnight.

October is ADHD Awareness Month 🧠💛

Food isn’t a cure for ADHD — but nutrition can matter.

For some people, eating regular, balanced meals and getting enough protein, fibre, healthy fats, carbohydrates and micronutrients can make a difference to energy, focus and how they feel throughout the day.

There’s no magic “ADHD diet” and definitely no one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about looking at the individual, their current eating habits and where we can make realistic improvements.

Want help looking at your nutrition and food choices? DM me to schedule a session. 💛

Would you treat your body differently if you could see inside?

We’re surrounded by reminders to care about how our bodies look — but health is so much more than what we see in the mirror.

Your everyday choices are supporting things you can’t see: your heart, bones, muscles, gut and overall health.

Nutrition isn’t about looking perfect. It’s about taking care of the body that carries you through life. 🤎

Lunchables and similar meal kits are convenient, but are they a healthy choice?

Oh really? 🤓🧐🤨🥸

Researchers found that consuming higher amounts of ultra-processed foods increased the risk of heart disease, strokes, obesity, diabetes, depression and anxiety, digestive issues, and cancer, according to a new study published in Family Medicine and Community Health.

Examples of ultra-processed foods include packaged snacks, processed meat products, cookies, cakes, sugary drinks, and many ready-to-eat meals.

Just kidding - I’d prefer to go the educational path. Let’s look at a food diary, read labels and look at how you feel day to day. I want to meet you where you are at… NO JUDGEMENT 🙈🙊🙉

Everyone in my house — including Henry 😂🐾 — is getting a filtered water upgrade! 💧

I’ve been wanting to make the switch because, quite simply, I don’t completely trust our local water OR the pipes in our older home. I can’t control everything that happens to the water before it reaches my glass, but I can control what I do with it once it gets here.

And the difference was pretty satisfying:

🚰 Tap water: 84 TDS
💧 After reverse osmosis: 4 TDS

That’s about a 95% reduction in total dissolved solids.

Now, before someone comes for me in the comments 😂 — TDS is NOT a test for contaminants. It does not mean my tap water had “84 contaminants,” and a reading of 4 does not mean the filtered water only has four contaminants.

TDS simply measures dissolved material in the water. I’m sharing the numbers because they show how dramatically the RO system reduced that dissolved material.

Reverse osmosis can also reduce many substances I’d rather have less of in my drinking water, including lead, arsenic, fluoride and certain PFAS, depending on the system and contaminant.

Is this me saying our tap water is unsafe? No.
Am I saying I personally feel better adding another layer of filtration between the water supply, older household plumbing and my family’s drinking water? Absolutely. 🙌💧

Apparently adulthood is getting ridiculously excited about a water filter… and making sure the dog drinks RO water too. 😂🐶

Saturdays are for catching up on the week and sprouting!!! 🌱

Depending on the variety, sprouts can provide fiber, plant protein, vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, minerals, antioxidants and other beneficial plant compounds.

And I love that I can grow them right on my kitchen counter. 🤍

I chose the Salad Mix as it contains ORGANIC Alfalfa, Clover, Broccoli and Radish by Nature Jims

In just a few days, these little seeds will turn into crunchy, nutrient-packed additions for salads, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, eggs and bowls.

Tiny food. Lots of nutrition. 🌱
