Ever wonder why the pharmacy asks for your ID… even when you’ve been picking up the exact same medication for years?

At Warm Valley Health Care, we consider our patients relatives. We know it can feel repetitive or like an extra chore when our pharmacy team asks for your photo ID—especially for a medication you have safely received for years! We aren’t trying to make your day harder. We are actually following strict state safety regulations to keep you and our community safe. Here is why we ask every single time:

It’s the Law: Many states legally require pharmacies to log a physical ID for specific categories of medications, like controlled substances. Wyoming requires the pharmacy to record the specific ID type and number in a way that is "readily retrievable" for safety audits. Failure to comply with these regulations can impact our funding.

Protecting Your Identity: Checking your ID ensures that someone else can't fraudulently claim your medication or use your insurance benefits.

New Faces: Pharmacy teams rotate shifts, and new technicians or floating pharmacists join the team frequently. Even if the pharmacy feels like home to you, the person at the window today might be new and bound by safety protocols!

The next time you visit our pharmacy window at Warm Valley Health Care, please have your ID ready! Your cooperation helps our team follow state law, protect your health profile, and keep our relatives and community safe. Thank you for partnering with us in your wellness journey!
