When I first started running, a sub-3:30 marathon
seemed impossible. Heck, I wasn’t even sure I could break 4 hours! (Spoiler: I didn’t 😂 My first marathon was a 4:27, followed by a 4:33 the next year.)

But years later, I crossed the finish line in 3:11!

How?! It wasn’t one breakthrough workout or a secret training strategy. It came from stacking strategic habits over time:
- Running consistently year-round instead of following a 16-week training plan and then taking months off
- Slowing down my easy runs
- Adding purposeful workouts instead of running every run at the same pace
- Increasing my daily carbohydrate intake and overall fueling
- Prioritizing recovery nutrition after morning workouts
Now let’s talk more about that last point because that’s one thing you can easily implement tomorrow if you’re not already!

After a workout, your muscles are primed to absorb nutrients. Pairing protein with carbohydrates helps replenish glycogen stores, repair muscle tissue, and prepare your body for the next training session.

Skipping recovery nutrition doesn’t just affect today’s workout! It can impact tomorrow’s workout, next week’s training quality, and increase your risk of injury over time.

You can only train as hard as you can recover.

If you train in the morning and need ideas for what to eat afterward, comment TIMING and I’ll send you our FREE guide with 6 high-protein breakfast ideas that support recovery and performance.

"When my lab results came back in November, I knew I needed to make changes to my nutrition, but I wasn’t sure where to start. I struggled with knowing what to eat throughout the day and how to properly fuel my running and training. I began working with Eve and Nutriworks right before Christmas, and it quickly became the missing piece in my endurance training.

Since then, I’ve learned so much about fueling for both training and races. I now eat more calories before and during my runs than I did previously, and the difference in my energy levels has been incredible. My long runs feel stronger, my recovery has improved, and I’ve been able to train more effectively overall.

Not only have my lab numbers improved, but I’ve also lost 13 pounds and 3% body fat while making progress toward all of my goals. One of my biggest accomplishments was running my fastest half marathon in over five years, and on a warm, humid day!

Working with Nutriworks gave me a solid, sustainable plan that improved both my health and performance. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone looking for guidance with general health or sports nutrition. The knowledge, support, and results have been truly life-changing. Thank you!" - Eileen Wright

It's frustrating, isn't it?
You start the day with the best intentions! You eat healthy foods, avoid the breakroom treats, and feel like you're doing everything right. But then inevitably, evening rolls around and all you can think about is chocolate, ice cream, cookies, wine, or whatever treat is in the pantry.

You tell yourself “I just need to be more disciplined! I wish I had more willpower! Why can’t I have self-control?!”
But here’s the thing 👉🏽 in many cases, those intense evening cravings aren't a willpower problem.

They're a natural physiological response to a fueling problem. You’re filling up your day with healthy food… but it’s not ENOUGH food or enough BALANCE.

When you consistently under-fuel throughout the day, your brain starts looking for the fastest source of energy it can find. That's why cookies, ice cream, chocolate, and other sugary foods suddenly sound impossible to resist at night.

So before you start blaming yourself and your “lack of discipline” ask yourself:
✔️ Did I eat enough at breakfast?
✔️ Did I include carbohydrates with my meals?
✔️ Did I eat enough protein throughout the day?
✔️ Did I go too long between meals?
✔️ Am I trying to "save calories" during the day?
For many people, simply eating larger, more balanced meals earlier in the day dramatically reduces evening sugar cravings.
