Trauma can affect far more than our memories. 👉 It can shape the nervous system, stress response, sleep, emotional regulation, and the way our brain processes safety over time.

And because trauma impacts both the mind and body, support often needs to address both, too.

Integrative psychiatry takes a deeper, more personalized approach by considering how your mind & body are connected. And our goal is to help you feel safer over time, not just manage the symptoms you feel right now.

If you or someone you love has experienced a traumatic event recently, please reach out via DM or by visiting the link below for immediate support. đź’Ś

Integrative Psychiatry looks beyond symptoms alone. ⤵️

Instead of asking “What diagnosis fits?” it asks, “What could be contributing to the way you feel?”

Hormones, nervous system health, sleep, stress, lifestyle, brain chemistry... they all play a role in mental health. And it's only when those pieces are looked at together that treatment becomes truly personalized, targeted & effective.

ADHD can make focus, organization, and task initiation more challenging for many women.

The brain responds well to external structure and consistent support. 👉 Small habits like the ones in this post (swipe!) can help improve focus and reduce mental fatigue.

These strategies don’t diminish ADHD symptoms altogether, but they can make daily functioning more manageable by working with how the brain is wired.

If symptoms are interfering with your quality of life, a full evaluation can help reveal what’s going on and guide the right support. Visit our website to schedule a consultation. (Link in comments!) 📲

Your mind, body, and nervous system are constantly communicating with each other. ⤵️

When one is out of balance, it often shows up in the others. For example, anxiety often shows up as physical tension, stress can easily interrupt sleep, and fatigue can impact our mood & motivation.

True support comes from addressing all three layers in small, consistent ways. Not quick fixes, but daily signals of safety and stability to your system. 🤍

When you start working with your whole self instead of just one piece, things begin to feel steadier, clearer, and more manageable over time.

Send this to someone you care about as a reminder that they deserve a moment of self-care today. đź’Ś

Lifestyle medicine focuses on the daily habits that quietly shape mental health over time.

Sleep, movement, nutrition, stress management, and social connection... they all play a direct role in how the brain functions. 🧠

When we support everything as a whole, we often see improvements in mood stability, focus, energy, and resilience to stress. 👏

And lifestyle medicine is just one piece of a broader, integrative approach to mental health care. Visit our website to learn more. (Find the link in the comments!)

Our mood, focus, motivation, and stress response are all shaped by neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and cortisol. And these systems respond most to consistency, not intensity. ⤵️

Routines structured around simple, quick habits (swipe!) send signals to your brain that help regulate these pathways over time.

Essentially, when the foundation is supported, everything else tends to fall into place. 👏

Women’s Health Week is a reminder that progress in medicine isn’t always equal.

Women are twice as likely to experience depression and anxiety, yet the care we receive doesn’t always reflect the complexity behind those numbers.

There’s still a gap in research, clinical focus, and understanding when it comes to women’s mental health, and it shows up in diagnosis, treatment, and lived experience.

Plus, conditions that disproportionately affect women, including hormonal mood disorders, ADHD, perimenopause, and postpartum mental health, have historically been under-researched and often misunderstood.

As an integrative psychiatrist, my role is to help close that gap by taking a more complete, individualized approach that considers hormones, brain chemistry, nervous system health, and lived experience together.

Let’s keep raising the standard for women’s mental health care. 🤍

Mother’s Day always makes me pause and think about just how lucky I am to be the momma to these two beautiful little kiddos. 🥰

But I also know this day can hold a lot of different emotions. For some, it’s joyful. For others, it can feel heavy, complicated, or even painful.

During seasons of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, the shifts in hormones, identity, sleep, and nervous system regulation can be intense. And so many women carry that quietly while still showing up for everyone else. ❤️‍🩹

If this day feels tender in any way, I'd like to extend my support.

Send me a message if you'd like to learn more about what that could look like for you, momma. đź“©

Creatine is best known for its role in muscle energy, but emerging research is also exploring its potential effects on brain health and mood. 🧠

Some studies suggest that creatine may support cellular energy production in the brain, which could play a role in how the brain responds to stress and depressive symptoms.

That said, this is still an evolving area of study. ➡️ The research is promising, but not yet definitive, and results can vary widely from person to person.

As with any supplement, it’s important to look at the full clinical picture, including your individual health history and current treatment plan.
