“Scanxiety,” or scan anxiety, is the nervousness that comes before, during, and after cancer-related imaging exams. Worrying about the unknown is a normal human response, and Dr. Laura Howe-Martin, Medical Director of Psycho-Oncology at UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center at Moncrief Cancer Institute, offers strategies to help manage these feelings.
