The way you walk can reveal a lot about how your body is moving.

Changes in:

• Step length
• Walking speed
• Foot placement
• Arm swing
• Balance
• Turning
• Coordination

can sometimes indicate weakness, mobility limitations, pain, or problems with coordination.

A physical therapist can assess your gait and determine what may be contributing to changes in the way you walk.

Have you noticed your walking pattern changing over time?

🪑 BE HONEST... HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET UP FROM YOUR DESK?

If you're sitting for hours at work, school, or while working from home, your back may be feeling the effects.

👇 Which one describes you?

🟢 Every 30 minutes
🟡 About every hour
🟠 Only when I need something
🔴 Almost never

There isn't one magical sitting position that will protect your back all day.

One of the best things you can do is change positions and move regularly.

🚶 Stand up. Walk around. Stretch. Change your position.

Your back will probably appreciate the break.

Many people assume that leg pain always starts in the leg. After all, if your calf aches, your thigh burns, or your foot feels numb, it seems logical to focus on the affected area. However, the true source of your symptoms may be your lower back.

The spine houses the nerves that travel into your hips, thighs, legs, and feet. When one of these nerves becomes irritated or compressed, the pain can be "referred" or radiate down the leg, even if there is no injury to the leg itself. This is why a thorough evaluation is essential to determine the actual cause of your symptoms.

🚗 ROAD TRIP THIS AUGUST? LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR BACK!

Long drives can leave your back feeling stiff, sore, and uncomfortable.

But what do YOU think causes the most trouble?

👇 COMMENT YOUR ANSWER:

A️. Sitting too long
B. Poor posture
C. Lifting heavy luggage
D️. All of the above

Here's the important part: your back generally doesn't like staying in one position for hours.

On your next road trip, try taking regular breaks to stand, walk, and gently move.

💬 What usually makes YOUR back hurt during a long drive?

Adult scoliosis is more common than many people realize. While many people associate scoliosis with adolescents wearing braces, adults can also develop or live with spinal curvature that causes pain, stiffness, and limitations in daily life. In fact, degenerative changes in the spine mean that scoliosis becomes increasingly common with age, even in people who never had a noticeable spinal curve during childhood.
