CBD and fitness are an increasingly interesting area of research. 🌿💪

Studies have explored CBD in relation to exercise-related discomfort, inflammation, sleep, relaxation, and recovery, with some findings showing potential benefits. However, human research is still developing, and results can vary depending on the outcome being studied.

For fitness enthusiasts, the most exciting areas include how CBD may fit into post-workout recovery, nighttime routines, and overall wellness. There’s also ongoing research into dosage, timing, and how CBD may interact with other cannabinoids.

The science is evolving and that’s exactly why staying informed matters. Know what the research says. Know what still needs to be explored.

🌿 Explore CBD as part of your wellness and recovery routine.

Your heart rate is one of the simplest ways to see how your body responds to exercise and researchers have been paying attention to it in CBD studies too. ❤️‍🔥

A 2025 randomized trial in trained runners tested 50 mg and 300 mg of CBD before endurance exercise. Neither dose significantly changed heart rate during exercise, peak oxygen uptake, or time to exhaustion compared with placebo.

Earlier research found similar results. In a small 2022 trial, 300 mg of CBD taken 1.5 hours before exercise did not significantly change heart rate during either steady-state running or a run to exhaustion.

CBD can also influence cardiovascular measures outside exercise. For example, controlled research has found reductions in blood pressure under certain conditions, although those findings were not conducted specifically as athletic performance studies.

The takeaway? A change in heart rate or blood pressure isn't automatically a performance benefit. Exercise physiology is much more complicated than one number on a fitness tracker.

They may come from the same plant family, but CBG and CBD are different cannabinoids with different chemical structures and biological interactions.

CBD has been studied considerably more in humans, while research on CBG is still developing. Scientists are investigating how CBG interacts with cannabinoid receptors and other biological pathways, and early human research is beginning to explore areas such as mood, stress, and cognitive effects.

That’s why it’s important not to assume that CBG will simply produce the same experience as CBD. Different cannabinoids can interact with the body in different ways and researchers are still learning exactly what those differences mean.

The fascinating part? The cannabinoid world is much more diverse than CBD alone. 🌿

Better Recovery Starts With Better Sleep. 🌙💪

Sleep is a major part of how the body recovers after training. During sleep, the body gets valuable time to restore energy, support muscle repair, and prepare for the next workout.

So, where do cannabinoids fit in?

Research is exploring how cannabinoids such as CBD and CBN may influence sleep and nighttime wellness. A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis of six randomized trials involving 1,077 adults found improvements in subjective sleep quality with cannabinoid interventions, although results varied considerably between studies.

A 2024 review of cannabinoid research also highlighted growing interest in minor cannabinoids and sleep, while emphasizing the need for more well-designed human studies.

For fitness enthusiasts, this makes cannabinoids an interesting area of recovery research, especially when paired with the fundamentals of good recovery: consistent sleep habits, proper nutrition, hydration, and rest. 🌿

Your workout builds the stress. Your recovery builds the adaptation. And sleep is part of that process.

Taking CBD before a workout has become increasingly popular among active people, but what actually happens when you exercise after taking it?

Research so far suggests that CBD can influence some physiological and psychological responses to exercise, but the effects are not as simple as “CBD makes you perform better.” In a 2025 randomized crossover trial, trained runners took either 50 mg or 300 mg of CBD 1.5 hours before endurance exercise. Neither dose significantly changed heart rate, perceived exertion, exercise efficiency, or time to exhaustion compared with placebo.

Interestingly, another 2025 pilot study involving runners found that 300 mg of CBD taken two hours before a 2-mile time trial increased feelings of calm and relaxation, while perceived exertion was lower at one point during the run, but running time itself did not improve.

So the interesting question may not simply be whether CBD makes you better at exercise, but whether it can influence how you experience exercise. The science is still developing.

🌿 Explore the science. Train with intention.

Getting stronger used to feel easy… so why did your progress stop? 💪

Hitting a plateau is a normal part of training. As your body adapts, the same routine may no longer provide enough challenge to drive further progress.

Instead of simply doing more, look at the bigger picture: progressive overload, proper nutrition, quality sleep, and adequate recovery all matter when you're trying to keep improving.

A plateau doesn't mean you're failing. It may simply be a sign that your training and recovery need a thoughtful adjustment.

Keep learning. Keep adapting. Keep progressing.

CBD Before a Workout: Helpful or Just Hype? 💪🌿

Could CBD have a place in your pre-workout routine? Research is beginning to explore how CBD may influence the exercise experience, including perceived effort, mood, and physiological responses.

A 2024 systematic review found that CBD may have limited effects on certain exercise-related physiological measures, although evidence for improving strength or overall performance remains limited.

Interestingly, a small 2025 pilot study found that 300 mg of CBD taken before a 2-mile run was associated with greater feelings of calm and relaxation and lower perceived effort at one point during the run, although it did not improve overall running time.

So, CBD shouldn't be viewed as a replacement for a proven performance-focused pre-workout. Instead, it may be an interesting addition to a balanced fitness and wellness routine for people who want to explore how CBD fits into their training.

Train with purpose. Fuel properly. Recover well. And find the routine that works best for you. 🌿

Give Your Body the Night It Deserves. 🌙

Your body works hard throughout the day, especially when you're training, staying active, and constantly asking it to perform.

But recovery isn't something that happens only on your rest days. What you do in the hours before bed can become an important part of your overall recovery routine.

Sleep plays a major role in physical recovery. Research has found that inadequate sleep can affect exercise performance, reaction time, mood, and recovery, while getting enough quality sleep supports the body's ability to adapt to physical demands.

That's why creating a calming nighttime routine can be worth the effort.

Dim the lights. Put the phone away. Give yourself time to unwind. Create an environment that tells your body it's time to slow down.

And if nighttime recovery is already part of your wellness routine, REMedy Nighttime Recovery Capsules can be incorporated into that routine as you wind down for the night.

Because your body doesn't stop working when your workout ends.

Give it the time, rest, and recovery it deserves.

💬 What's one thing you do at night to help yourself unwind and recover?

Why Is It So Hard to Stick to Your Workout Routine?

Because motivation comes and goes. Building a routine that fits your lifestyle is often more sustainable than relying on motivation alone. Small, realistic workouts, clear goals, and consistency can make it easier to keep showing up, even on the days you don't feel like it.

You don't need to be perfect. You just need to keep going. 💪

💬 What usually makes you skip a workout, lack of time, energy, or motivation?

Your Workout Ends. Recovery Begins. Where Does CBN Fit? 🌙💪

Recovery continues long after your workout ends. Quality sleep is an important part of the recovery process, giving your body valuable time to rest and reset.

CBN has been gaining attention for its potential role in nighttime wellness. In a 2024 randomized, placebo-controlled study involving 293 adults with poor sleep, 20 mg of CBN was associated with fewer nighttime awakenings and reduced overall sleep disturbance compared with placebo.

Research into CBN and sleep continues to grow, with scientists exploring how this cannabinoid may support relaxation and different aspects of nighttime rest.

For fitness enthusiasts, CBN can be an interesting addition to a nighttime recovery routine alongside the fundamentals that matter most, consistent training, proper nutrition, rest, and healthy sleep habits. 🌿

Your workout may end at the gym. Your recovery continues through the night.
