The change your client is really after lives in the full arc, not in the medicine alone.

Preparation before. The ketamine treatment itself. Integration in the weeks after. When the early shift feels good, it's tempting to shorten the back half, and that's exactly where a trained coach holds the line, so nothing that surfaced gets left behind. We hold it for each other, too. Coaches who protect the full process protect the results.

Ketamine is 10 percent. Preparation and integration are the other 90. The full arc is where transformation takes root and grows.

What's something you've found is only worth doing all the way through?

For years, I looked for one document and never found it: the ethics code written for what a ketamine coach actually does.

There were codes for therapists, and standards for coaches, but nothing for the space between them, and that space is exactly where ketamine coaching lives. So I wrote the one I couldn't find. Seven principles, built to keep clients safe and this young field credible.

I practice as if safe, ethical ketamine care depends on it. Because it does. The Code is my gift to the field. Link in the comments.

What's something in your own field that didn't exist yet, so you had to build it?

How do you prepare emotionally for a ketamine journey?

Not by trying to predict what will happen.

Meaningful preparation is about becoming more aware of what you are bringing into the experience. Your intentions. Your expectations. Your fears. The patterns that keep repeating. The questions you have been carrying. And what feels most important in your life right now.

Together, we explore those things with curiosity, without creating a script for what the ketamine experience is supposed to reveal.

You do not need to arrive perfectly calm, completely certain, or with the perfect intention. You can arrive as you are.

Preparation gives you a place to begin.

Then, during the journey, I am there with grounded and compassionate coaching presence while your medical provider remains responsible for your clinical care. Afterward, we begin the integration work of exploring what arose and what it may mean for the life you return to.

Here's a coaching move I teach that lands every single time.

When a client tells you they're at an eight, and lists all the reasons why, you can gently push: what would a nine look like? But the real moment comes next. After they've named everything, you say: do you realize just three weeks ago you rated yourself a two? And you watch their mind get blown. Because progress becomes their new normal so fast they lose sight of where they began.

Your job is to show them the distance they've covered. Readiness quiz in the comments.

What's a change in yourself you only noticed when someone pointed it out?

I'm so glad to finally share this one.

I recently joined Veronica Bahn on her Be Visible with Veronica podcast, and the conversation went deeper than I expected.

We talked about therapeutic ketamine and the work I do today, but the real story is what happens when a high performer reaches the point where they can't keep pushing through.

Five years ago, I woke up one morning and couldn't lift my head off the pillow. I'd spent years coaching high-level executives, dozens of clients a week, building a career around helping other people perform at their best. And during that same season, I was navigating a cyber attack, long COVID, a cancer diagnosis, and the cumulative weight of all of it.

I had always been someone who could figure things out. Until I couldn't.
That season taught me something I'll never forget. Sometimes the way forward is to pause, look within, and let yourself see your life from a completely different perspective.

That perspective changed the direction of my work. It led me to explore therapeutic ketamine for myself, pursue extensive training, and develop a future-focused coaching approach that brings together the experience, the preparation, and the integration.

I'm grateful to Veronica for creating such a thoughtful space, and for the chance to share not just what I do, but why I do it.

If you've ever looked successful on the outside while feeling stuck or depleted underneath, I hope you'll give it a listen.

Listen through the link in the comments. I'd love to hear which part speaks to you most.

When people are considering ketamine, they often put most of their attention on choosing the clinic.

Who is prescribing the medicine? What medical screening is required? How will I be monitored?

Those questions matter. But they are only part of the picture.

I think about ketamine care through the 10/90 rule: ketamine is 10 percent. Preparation and integration are the other 90.

That means choosing your support team deserves just as much thought as choosing your medical provider.

Who helps you prepare for the experience? Who offers grounded, compassionate presence during the ketamine journey? Who helps you return to what emerged afterward and explore how those insights might become meaningful change in your life?

In my new blog post, I share the questions I believe are worth asking when you are choosing a ketamine provider and support team, including medical screening, credentials, professional roles, preparation, presence, communication, and integration.

Your whole team matters.

One of my favorite moments in this work happened over a single word: freedom.

That was her whole intention going in. By her Second Integration Coaching Call, about ten days after her ketamine treatment, I asked how she felt and she said, I feel free. So I paused and reminded her that freedom was exactly what she'd asked for. She just went, whoa. Because clients forget. The new way of being becomes their default so fast they don't remember reaching for it a week ago.

Part of the work is holding up the mirror. Readiness quiz in the comments.

When did someone help you see how far you'd actually come?

09/24/2026

Here's a distinction that changes how you see every prospective client.

Everyone who sits with you has a past. Pain, loss, disappointment. That's being human, not a marker of readiness. The real question is where they are right now in relation to that past. A good ketamine coaching client can hold their history and still turn toward the future. Someone who needs therapy first is still living inside it, even when they describe it in the past tense.

The Conscious Ketamine Coaching method is built for the coaching lane. Bring in someone it wasn't built for, and it strains for both of you. Readiness quiz in the comments.

You can understand a pattern completely and still find yourself repeating it.

That can be one of the most frustrating parts of personal growth.

You may know where the pattern came from. You may have talked about it in therapy, journaled about it, coached around it, and even recognized it while it is happening.

And yet knowing is not always the same as changing.

In my latest blog, I explore why intellectual understanding and lived change are different, and how preparation, grounded support during the ketamine experience, and thoughtful integration can help turn a new perspective into something you can actually live.

Over the last few years, the question I've been asked most by my students is this: how do I know if a client is a good fit for ketamine coaching?

Here's what I tell them. There are a lot of people who need us, but not everyone is for us, and that's okay. Staying in your scope keeps your client safe and keeps you safe. The real skill is discernment, knowing who belongs in ketamine coaching and who needs something outside a coach's lane first.

That one question, does this person fit my scope, is one of the most important you'll ever ask. Readiness quiz in the comments.
