I don’t want my kids growing up thinking health means watching Mom constantly “go on a diet”
I want them to see me eat vegetables AND ice cream. Lift weights because being strong feels good. Get outside. Cook nourishing meals we can all eat. Take care of myself without guilt.
Because having two babies changed the way I think about my own weight loss
Of course I want to lose the postpartum weight and feel like myself again. But I’m also thinking about the health habits my kids are absorbing while I do it
Taking care of yourself isn’t taking something away from your family. Your health is part of how you take care of them.
And weight loss doesn’t have to happen separately from family life
Make one dinner everyone eats.
Take walks together.
Let your kids cook with you.
Keep nourishing foods in the house.
Teach them movement isn’t punishment for eating.
Lose weight in a way that inspires your whole household to be healthier
That philosophy is a huge part of why I partnered with New Horizon Medical to create our NHM × IWW Wellness Insider Community—bringing medical weight-loss expertise + dietitian-led nutrition into one place.
