June 6, 1944 | D-Day
You see plenty of posts throughout the year for different holidays, but this one means something special.
Many of us grew up hearing stories from World War II veterans firsthand, something future generations may never have the opportunity to experience.
On D-Day, thousands of young Americans, many barely older than teenagers, stepped onto the beaches of Normandy knowing there was a chance they would never come home. They were tough, determined, and willing to do what was asked of them regardless of the cost.
This was a generation built out of toughness, determination, and a whole lot of p**s and vinegar. They didn’t spend their time talking about hard things; they lived them. When their country called, they answered.
Many never made it back. Those who did, returned home, built families, worked hard, strengthened their communities, and helped build the America we know today.
We enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we have because of the sacrifices made by that generation. They went to war when called, and when the job was done, they came home and went back to work.
At Breaker Boys Coffee, we honor that same spirit of hard work, sacrifice, humility, and dedication.
Today, we remember the heroes of D-Day and the generation that helped shape our nation.
