š Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program š
We are getting a lot of questions about the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program that started July 1st. Here is a quick rundown of who qualifies and how it works!
Eligibility:
⢠Enrolled in a Medicare drug plan (Part D or Medicare Advantage)
⢠NO diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease (if you have one of these diagnoses, we must use your standard drug plan)
⢠NO history of already getting a GLP-1 through your standard Medicare drug plan (if so, we must continue using your standard drug plan)
⢠Age 18+ and meeting one of these weight/health thresholds:
~BMI of 35+
~BMI of 30+ WITH hard-to-control high blood pressure, certain heart failure, or kidney disease (stage 3a+)
~BMI of 27+ WITH prediabetes, or a history of heart attack, stroke, or blocked leg/arm arteries
Covered Medications:
⢠Wegovy® (injection or tablet)
⢠Zepbound® (KwikPen® formulation only)
⢠Foundayo® (tablet)
How it works:
This program requires a Prior Authorization from your doctor for the first fill. Once approved, your medication is a flat $50 per month through December 2027! *This $50 copay does not count toward your normal insurance deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. We will need your Medicare Beneficiary ID (from your red, white, and blue Medicare Card) if not already on file.
