What if we are treating depression backwards?
We have become so focused on depression that we often forget to ask a more important question. What is oppressing the person in the first place?
A chemical imbalance may be part of the picture. But what if it is not?
Unresolved emotional wounds. Chronic stress. Trauma. Grief. Isolation. A loss of purpose. Spiritual burdens. Poor nutrition. Environmental stressors. Physiological dysfunction.
Yet the conventional approach is often to identify the symptoms, manipulate brain chemistry, and call the problem treated.
But manipulating chemistry does not necessarily answer the question of why the person became depressed.
If we truly want to help people we need to go beyond the diagnosis and investigate the person as a whole.
What is this person carrying that their body and mind can no longer compensate for?
That is where the deeper conversation begins. And that is exactly what we do at Trinity Natural Health.
If this resonates with you, we would love to connect. Call us or visit our website to schedule today.
