**”Not that I need convincing… but is there evidence for this?”**

I love that a patient just recently asked me this. It’s a legitimate question, and honestly, it motivated me to do more research 🧐.

It’s easy as a practitioner to take for granted what you think a patient knows — or to assume curiosity means doubt. It rarely does. And if I don’t know the answer on the spot? I tell them exactly that: *let me find out for you.* That’s not a weakness in the practitioner’s abilities. it’s the relationship working the way it should.

So here’s what I found when I went looking:

📊 10 conditions show strong, consistently replicated evidence
📊 82 more show promising results. The data is still catching up
📊 Only 6 out of 184 conditions studied showed no effect

That’s not “unproven.” That’s a field where the science is actively deepening to meet what practitioners already see in the treatment room every day.

I will always welcome your questions, the ones you think are simple, the ones you’re afraid might sound skeptical, and the ones I don’t know the answers to.
Medicine is always evolving, and it is a lifelong commitment of learning. 🤍🙏🏻

🩺 Waking Up Better: What the Research Says About Acupuncture & Anesthesia

Did you know how amazing Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture can be? 👀

If you’ve ever watched someone struggle to surface after major surgery, you know why this matters. This isn’t “alternative” medicine working against Western medicine — it’s evidence that the two work with each other.🤍

A 2025 systematic review pooled 18 randomized trials — 1,127 surgical patients — and found something the skeptics might not expect:

🔹 Acupuncture patients opened their eyes and had breathing tubes removed significantly faster after general anesthesia
🔹 Heart rate & blood pressure at extubation were significantly steadier — a calmer nervous system, not a startled jolt
🔹 This wasn’t a small pilot study. It was a meta-analysis across 1,127 people.

The seasons are always teaching us if we’re willing to observe.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, late summer is the season of the Earth element, inviting us to ground, nourish, and find our center before the energy of autumn begins to gather. In Ayurveda, this is a time to balance the lingering heat of Pitta while preparing for the dry, airy qualities of Vata that are just around the corner. And practicing gentle movements like Yoga and Qi Gong reminds us that true balance begins within.

Nature never rushes its transitions. Neither should we.

This month, instead of asking, “What more can I accomplish?” try asking:

• What truly nourishes me?
• Where have I lost my center?
• What can I release with gratitude as a new season approaches?

Healing is rarely about doing more. More often, it’s about creating the space to listen—to your breath, your body, and the wisdom that has been there all along.

May August be a month of grounding, gentle transformation, and living in harmony with nature’s rhythms.

When we align with the seasons, we begin to remember that the body already knows the way.

Happy August. 🌻🌾💕🙏🏻✨🕉️☯️

True confidence doesn’t ask for permission.

When you truly believe in yourself, you don’t feel the need to convince anyone.
When you’re content with who you are, you stop chasing approval.
And when you fully accept yourself, the world begins to meet you differently.

Self-acceptance isn’t giving up, it’s coming home to who you’ve always been.

As we quiet the need for external validation, we create space for authenticity, peace, and genuine connection.

✨ “Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” — Laozi

This week reminded me why Observation deserves more attention than it gets. Before the intake form, before a single question — the pattern is already visible if you’re actually looking. That’s the whole point of Wang Zhen, and honestly, of this series.

Thank you for following along all week. Tag a classmate who needs to see this before boards 👇

Day 5 of 7 of our Observation series — today we’re looking at limbs, skin, and the connecting channels. 🖐️🦵

This is where Observation gets physical. Edema location alone tells you a lot — hands point to Lung Yang deficiency, feet to Kidney, all four limbs to Spleen. Flaccidity, rigidity, and paralysis each carry their own differential — from Lung Heat injuring fluids to internal Wind and Phlegm. Even the venules on the thenar eminence carry a signal: bluish for Cold, red for Heat, purple for Blood stasis.

It’s easy to think of Observation as just the face. But the limbs and skin are doing just as much talking — you just have to know where to look.

Day 4 of 7 of our Observation series — today we’re moving to the sensory organs. 👁️👃👂👄

The face isn’t just complexion and color — each opening has its own story. A red inner corner of the eye can point to Heart Fire. Yellow sclera, Damp-Heat. A green or yellow tip of the nose maps back to Spleen patterns. Dry, withered ear lobes are one of those quiet signs with real prognostic weight. Purple lips suggest Blood stasis. Dry teeth, Kidney Yin deficiency.

None of these signs stand alone — but together, they build a picture fast, often before the intake form is even filled out.

Swipe through for the eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, and throat — one more piece of the Observation puzzle.

Follow along all week — Day 5 tomorrow: Limbs, Skin & Luo-Channel Signs.
