It’s said that nurses never really retire – they just move on to other types of care. Charlotte Dorsey is a living example of this phenomenon.

After a perioperative nursing career that spanned more than 50 years, Charlotte “retired” from her job as a quality and infection control manager at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta two years ago. In this role, she oversaw nine ambulatory surgery centers, working with staff and physicians on issues and concerns while also monitoring ASC QualityNet measures.
