On this week’s Mondays with Mehta, Dr. Mehta explains five ways patients can support their bodies after stem cell therapy:
1️⃣ Physician-guided peptides: Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as messengers in the body. When medically appropriate, certain peptides may be incorporated into a personalized recovery plan to support cellular communication and function.
2️⃣ Red light therapy: Also called photobiomodulation, red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that interact with the mitochondria, the structures responsible for producing energy within cells.
3️⃣ Appropriate exercise: Carefully prescribed movement can support circulation, mobility, strength and function around the treated area. The timing and intensity should depend on the procedure and your provider’s recommendations.
4️⃣ Whole-food nutrition: Prioritizing protein, vegetables, fruit and other minimally processed foods gives the body important nutrients for recovery. Limiting added sugar and highly processed foods also supports overall metabolic health.
5️⃣ Quality sleep: Sleep supports immune regulation, hormone balance and the body’s natural repair processes. It isn’t an afterthought. It is part of recovery.
Every treatment and recovery plan should be individualized. Before adding peptides, red light therapy or a new exercise routine, talk with your medical provider.
