🐕‍🦺 Canines on the Creek is an annual celebration of dogs in kooky, creative, and downright adorable costumes! Join the fun with a Halloween costume contest, a parade around beautiful Carroll Creek, exhibitors, prizes, and demonstrations. There’s something for kids of all ages! 🧡🖤

🐾 Have a dog? Bring your furry friend and join in the fun! Everyone is welcome to come out, cheer on the pups, and enjoy this tail-wagging celebration!

❤️ Best of all, proceeds benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind and other Lions Club charities.

💜 Lucy will be there with her Wags for Hope therapy dog friends to offer comfort, cuddles, smiles, and a little extra love to everyone attending. Some of our amazing teams will also participate in the walk!

Sometimes, a wagging tail and a few minutes with a therapy dog can brighten someone's day and remind them that they are not alone. ❤️🐾

We are proud to support this important event, raising awareness for su***de prevention, remembering loved ones, and standing together to bring hope to our community.

🐾💗 LUCY THE THERAPY DOG SPREADS LOVE AND LAUGHTER! 💗🐾

Yesterday, Lucy had an amazing visit with her friends at the James M. Stockman Cancer Center! 🐶❤️

Lucy has such a BIG personality and a special way of bringing smiles and laughter to everyone she meets! 🥰 She loves making new friends and brightening the days of the patients she visits.

And of course, Lucy always arrives in style! 👗💅💕 From her fancy dresses and perfectly painted nails to her matching collar and leash, this fashionable little lady knows how to make an entrance! 🎀🐾

But beyond her fabulous wardrobe, Lucy has a heart full of love to share. ❤️ She loves everyone she meets and is always happy to offer a little extra comfort, a few giggles, and lots of love to those who need it most.

🐾 Lucy sends her warmest wishes, lots of love, and big puppy kisses to all the patients! May your days be filled with hope, strength, smiles, and a little Lucy magic! 💗🐶✨

🐾💗 A VERY SPECIAL PARADE DAY FOR LUCY & ETHEL! 💗🐾

Lucy, our Wags For Hope therapy dog, had an extra-special partner by her side at the Middletown Heritage Parade—her daughter, Ethel! 🐶🐾

Lucy has been showing Ethel the ropes as she continues her journey as a Therapy Dog in Training. And what better place to learn than a parade filled with happy families, smiling kids, bubbles, wagging tails, and lots of love! 🫧🥰

Watching Lucy and Ethel experience the parade together was absolutely priceless. 💕 From greeting the crowds to spreading smiles along the route, these two girls were definitely a pawsome mother-daughter team!

We can't wait to see where Ethel's therapy dog journey takes her! 🐾❤️

Meet Payton & Kacie’s Dog Walking Service! 🐶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️

These two young professionals may be young but apparently they have already mastered the art of being a K9 whisperer! 😂🐾

Just LOOK at Lucy! 😍 She is walking calmly, listening to every command, and acting like the most perfectly trained doggo ever! 👏🐶

Payton and Kacie are excellent with K9s, and Lucy clearly thinks they are TOP DOG! 🏆🐾

If you're looking for a great dog walker, Lucy gives them 5 PAWS UP! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐾

Of course, their rates may include payment in puppy kisses, and maybe a snack or two or a run to McDonald's! 😂❤️

💜 Project Christine – Grief Support for Families

Lucy, our Wags For Hope and Frederick Health therapy dog, will be there to offer comfort and support to those attending Project Christine. 🐾💜

Lucy is excited to step into her new role with Frederick Health Hospice, taking over for her beloved predecessor, Sparkle the Therapy Dog, who brought comfort and love to so many families.

Project Christine is a grief counseling program for families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child. The program offers peer support through weekly dinner groups, a support group led by a licensed grief counselor, and additional resources for families navigating grief together.

The program is open to parents who have lost an infant or child under 18, as well as surviving siblings in grades K–12.

🐾💚 A Busy Day for Lucy the Therapy Dog! 💚🐾

Lucy from Wags For Hope had a very busy and meaningful day spreading love, comfort, and lots of smiles! 🐶💕

Our first stop was Autumn Lake at Ballenger Creek, where Lucy visited several of the patients she regularly sees. Some of these patients are bed-ridden, which makes therapy dog visits especially important. 💗

For patients who may not be able to get out of their rooms or enjoy many activities, a visit from Lucy brings a little piece of the outside world to them. Her gentle presence, soft fur, wagging tail, and unconditional love can brighten their entire day. 🐾

One very special patient Lucy visits is blind. During our visit, we made sure to describe Lucy to her—what she was wearing, how she looked, and even the color of Lucy’s nails! 💅🐶 It’s such a beautiful reminder that therapy visits are about creating connections in whatever way is meaningful to each person.

🏥 Next stop: Frederick Health Hospital!

Lucy checked in with the Pediatric Unit, where she quickly fell in love with a sweet toddler. 🥰 She gave her lots of love, cuddles, and well wishes before heading off to her next stop.

Then it was over to the Emergency Department, where Lucy visited the nurses, doctors, and staff who work so hard caring for others. And, of course, we managed to sneak in one special visit with a patient, too. ❤️🐾

From nursing home rooms to hospital hallways, Lucy continues to show just how powerful the simple gift of a therapy dog visit can be.

Overall, it was a very busy day for Lucy—but a day filled with love, comfort, smiles, and wagging tails! 🐾💚

🐾 Lucy the Therapy Dog with Wags For Hope, in partnership with the Thurmont Police Department, had a pawsome time at the Thurmont Fireman's Parade! ❤️

Lucy loved greeting everyone along the parade route, and so many smiling faces enjoyed receiving candy and bracelets! Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and helped make it such a fun evening for our favorite heart thief.
