Music has the power to calm us, energize us, move us, and help us feel understood. 🎡✨

In the Feeling Groovy music therapy group, residents use music as a coping tool to explore mood, emotional regulation, and connection. Together, they dive into different genres, artists, movement, and meaningful conversations about how music affects the mind and body.

Residents also share favorite songs and discover artists whose stories of mental health or recovery create opportunities for reflection and connection. Plus β€” each week brings a new shared playlist! 🎢

Because sometimes a song can say exactly what words cannot.

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our May Employee of the Month, Samantha Williams, Career Development Specialist! πŸŽ‰

Sami's dedication, compassion, and commitment to our residents make a lasting impact every day, and we are thrilled to recognize her for this well-deserved honor.

As Career Development Specialist, Sami goes above and beyond to help residents discover meaningful purpose in their recovery journey. Whether she's helping someone build a resume, search for employment, prepare for interviews, or celebrate a new opportunity, she meets each resident where they are and provides unwavering support every step of the way.

Her colleagues shared:

πŸ’™ "Sami goes above and beyond to support residents in their community engagement. She supports clients by finding the perfect fit when looking for a job or any community involvement."

πŸ’™ "She always goes out of her way to coordinate driving residents to appointments herself and communicates consistently with the homes."

πŸ’™ "You can feel the joy when residents find success. It was amazing to watch her interact with a resident and see the confidence in their eyes afterward."

πŸ’™ "She is a fearless advocate for our residents."

At ClearView Communities, we believe that meaningful work, community involvement, and purpose are important parts of recovery. Sami embodies these values every day through her dedication to helping residents build confidence, independence, and brighter futures.

Thank you, Sami, for all you do for our residents, your teammates, and our community. We are grateful to have you on the ClearView team!

πŸ‘ Congratulations, Sami!

We’re excited to share a new addition from our Occupational Therapy department at ClearView Communities: our π—¦π—²π—»π˜€π—Όπ—Ώπ˜† 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿.

Designed to provide an immersive sensory experience, this dedicated space helps residents calm anxious feelings, manage difficult symptoms, and actively practice self-regulation skills.

Equipped with tools such as fidget toys, nature sounds, light projection, weighted lap pads, a sun lamp, and more, residents can access this space upon request as part of building coping strategies and strengthening emotional regulation.

At ClearView Communities, we believe healing happens not only through therapy sessions, but also through creating environments that support growth, self-awareness, and practical skill building in everyday moments.

Wellness is about more than exercise β€” it’s also about learning how to care for your body in ways that support long-term mental health. πŸ₯—

At ClearView Communities, residents in our Wellness Program have opportunities to increase their knowledge around nutrition, recovery, and healthy routines. Together, we explore meal planning centered around whole foods while discussing how sleep, movement, and nourishment can positively impact emotional wellbeing.

Because mental health and physical health are deeply connected, we aim to help residents build practical habits they can carry with them long after treatment.

Small lifestyle changes can create meaningful momentum toward healing and independence.

In Art Therapy with Laura First, LCSW-C, our residents create something that is both beautiful and deeply meaningful β€” their own handmade expressive therapy journals. πŸ“šπŸŽ¨

Starting with a simple composition notebook, residents transform their journals using soft, comforting fabrics and personally selected imagery that reflects their identity, experiences, and hopes.

These journals become a safe place for therapeutic reflection and creativity. Residents may explore prompts around recovery milestones, family questions, life maps, personal growth, and more β€” all tailored to their individual journey.

One of the most special parts? These journals go home with residents when they complete their stay at ClearView Communities β€” a personal keepsake of the work they've done, the insights they've gained, and the growth they carry forward.

We love seeing how art can create space for healing, self-expression, and lasting connection to one's story. πŸ’š

🌿🎨 This spring, our residents have been creating meaningful artwork alongside our talented Art Therapist, Laura First. One of our favorite traditions is the creation of birds for our Storytelling Grove. Each resident designs a bird that is displayed around campus, helping to symbolically welcome spring and reflect the unique voices that make up our community.

We also continue our seasonal mural tradition, marking the movement into a new season through collaborative art. Every resident is invited to contribute something to the mural, creating a visual expression of community, shared experience, and belonging. Once complete, the mural is proudly displayed in our Great Room as a reminder that everyone has a place here and that belonging can be made visible.

Art has a powerful way of helping individuals process change, express identity, and build connection. We are grateful for the creativity, vulnerability, and community spirit our residents bring to these traditions each season.

What a meaningful way to close out the IECA--Independent Educational Consultants Association Conference!

Last week’s post-conference tour was everything we hoped it would be β€” and that is entirely because of the incredible people who joined us. The thoughtful conversations, insightful questions, and genuine engagement at every stop made this experience much more than a tour. It felt like a true community coming together.

A sincere thank you to our partners at Help in the Home, LLC, ClearView Communities, and the CLE | College Living Experience team for opening your doors and offering an honest, behind-the-scenes look at the impactful work happening every day. The families we serve are stronger and better supported because dedicated professionals take the time to learn, connect, and deepen their understanding of the options available.

We hope everyone left feeling inspired, informed, and connected to a few new people in their corner. Here's to continuing these conversations, strengthening partnerships, and building community together.

At ClearView Communities, wellness looks different for everyone. πŸ’™

For some residents, it’s strength training at the gym. For others, it’s yoga, hiking, swimming, basketball, or simply taking a walk with someone supportive by their side. Our Wellness Program focuses on helping each resident discover forms of movement they genuinely enjoy β€” or at least feel comfortable exploring β€” and incorporating them into daily life in a realistic, sustainable way.

One thing that has stood out most is how meaningful connection can be. Weekly walks through Baker Park in downtown Frederick became something residents looked forward to, even during the coldest winter days, simply because they were doing it together.

Healing happens in community, and sometimes wellness begins with one small step outside. 🌿
