Love this message. What to buy for the dorm room matters but not as much as the conversation(s) you have with your young adult about consent. Starting the conversation may feel awkward but you can do it!! Don’t assume that your son would never try to coerce someone or that your daughter already knows what to do if someone pressures her. They need you to start the dialogue and show that you are there for them. Many adult survivors report that they didn’t tell a parent because they feared what the reaction would be. Those are the types of secrets that cast a lifelong shadow when carried alone. So much trauma can be prevented when families build a culture of safety and open communication . June is PTSD Awareness Month, and for many veterans, the battle doesn't end when they come home.

At Platoon 22, we see firsthand the impact PTSD can have on veterans, first responders, and their families. We also see the power of connection, support, and community in helping people move forward.
This month, help us raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind those struggling that they are not alone.

Our limited-edition PTSD Awareness Month shirts are now available. Every shirt helps support the mission of Platoon 22 and the programs that provide year-round care, peer support, transportation, advocacy, and resources for those who have served.
