We LOVE when patients see us BEFORE getting surgery!

Having 1-2 pelvic PT sessions prior to surgery (aka prehab) allows us to learn your baseline and give you strategies to help you manage pain the first few weeks postop.

We then have an easier time identifying what improved as a direct result of the surgery and what areas we need to spend more time on in PT!

I’m always shocked at how many times I hear friends/clients tell me this. Has this happened to you during pregnancy and if so did you find it strange?

We are big fans of surgical excision of endometriosis and see life changing results with a lot of our clients.

But for some, surgery is not the best solution for them at the time. This is where symptom management, pelvic floor PT being one of the tools, comes into play.

We typically see so much tension in the pelvic and lower abdominal regions contributing to even more pain. It’s a vicious cycle.

This is a brief look into one of several ways pelvic floor PT can help manage symptoms of endometriosis.

We want your baby to have plenty of room to make their way down into your pelvis to prepare for childbirth. Movements of the hip and pelvis help encourage this! Cat/Cow with hip internal and external rotation is just one example.

You should not have pain with these. They should feel good or neutral. If pain occurs, modify your range of motion or stop the exercise.
