If only all health insurance covered the high-quality, time-intensive, individualized concierge care that home birth midwives offer like they cover the 6-minute, “feel-like-just-a-number prenatally” “35% cesarean rate” and “see you at 6 weeks postpartum” care that most women receive.
It would save them thousands per birth (and SO more when you consider every expensive thing that midwifery care PREVENTS for moms and babies!)
If your insurance company does not support you choosing where and with whom to give birth, I encourage you to write letters, demand they do better, and take your business elsewhere if you can.
