Healthy aging is about more than staying active and eating well—it also means taking care of your oral health. As we get older, maintaining healthy teeth and gums can support overall health, nutrition, confidence, and quality of life.

At Mission of Mercy, we believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care at every stage of life. Regular dental care can help identify problems early and keep your smile healthy for years to come.

Mission of Mercy is very excited to announce its 26th Annual Gala to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 6 pm – 10:30 pm at Orvis Country located at 519 Gladhill Road, Fairfield, PA.

There will be Live Auction, Dinner catered by The Carriage House Inn, and music and dancing by Blythe Spirits. The event is Black tie optional.

Grace's Story
Eleven years after undergoing a bi-lateral mastectomy, Grace S. found herself without health insurance and hadn't seen a doctor in five years. When ear pain brought her to Mission of Mercy's clinic at the Brethren in Christ Church in Harrisburg, she expected treatment for her ear—but the medical team discovered she had dangerously high blood pressure.

Before leaving that day, Grace received medication to help control her blood pressure and orders for blood work to assess her overall health. Now, she returns regularly for follow-up care and is grateful for the compassion she receives. "They are so caring and there is no judgment," Grace said. "They don't care what your situation is. They just want to take care of you."

Join our passionate team of volunteers at Mission of Mercy and experience the joy of giving back in a meaningful way. We’re currently seeking additional volunteer providers, dentists, and nurses to support our life-changing medical and dental clinics.

You can make an impact by volunteering just one or two days per month at a
clinic that works best for your schedule.

We currently have a need for:

• Dentists and Dental Assistants:
Brunswick, MD – 1 to 2 Tuesdays per month
Harrisburg, PA – 1 to 2 Thursdays per month.

• Physician, NP or PA:
Reisterstown, MD – 1 to 2 Tuesdays per month
Frederick, MD – 1 to 2 Mondays per month

Turning Metal into Money.
For the past eight years, Bill Traube has been a dedicated volunteer at Mission of Mercy, welcoming patients with a friendly smile as they arrive for medical and dental appointments at the Church of Latter-Day Saints on North Place in Frederick.

Wanting to give back even more, Bill and fellow members of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Valley, operate a scrap metal collection program in Middletown. Every Sunday, they collect everything from bottle caps to aluminum cans, to refrigerators. They strip the metal from what comes in and turn it into cash. A portion of those proceeds goes to help Mission of Mercy and its clinical programs. Because of this, Bill donates $4,000–$5,000 each year to help provide vital healthcare services in Frederick County.

If you would like to donate, items are accepted on Sunday mornings starting at 6:30am behind the Zion
Lutheran Church in Middletown.

- What to drop off: Everything from aluminum cans to bottle caps, to microwaves and refrigerators.
