As I reminisce about my 20 years in 2017 & 2018, they were both huge opportunities and beyond humbling experiences. This was my first time to finally meet Jim Ward, talk with him on his path of being one of the pioneers of body piercing that paved the way for us today, and get pierced by him 🥹 in OKC at 23rd Street Body Piercing💜✨

The following year, I got accepted to Fakir Intensives and went to San Francisco for the first time, which is still my favorite spot in Cali I’ve been to. I’m still, to this day, lost for words about this experience. It was absolutely life-changing and helped me become the piercer I am today. This was my first experience with feeling two passionate things in my life that mean so much to me, body modification and spirituality at the same time 🥰 I learned new techniques, got my eyebrow pierced as a volunteer for the demo, and I pierced my first guiche piercing

After we finished, I met up with Jim and his partner for dinner, then went to Cold Steel to get pierced again by him. It was such an honorable additional moment with that because I got to show Jim how to needle crush that I learned at Fakir, and that was his first one he did when he pierced me 🥹

Following these experiences, when I started going to APP seminars/classes, conferences, and became a member, Electric Pair O’ Dice became the first APP shop in Virginia 🙌

I am forever grateful for everything that helped me be where I am today, and even though it’s been 20 years, I am still intrigued by new techniques and jewelry. I want to continue with classes, conference, and the next level with Fakir learning 🙏❤️‍🔥🙏

First one I believe was to 1 1/2 and the second one was 1 inch to 1 3/4 last photo you can see them after a couple months or so of healing

An honorable moment for me back then was meeting Philadelphia Eddie for the first time and talking about his path in the tattoo industry. A funny moment was when he said to my wife (ATM), “You're cute, I can fit you in my suitcase if you want to come to Philly with me.” Looking back now, I kinda wish that happened 😂

Here are some OG custom piercings from my early days
Some were good 🙂some were bad 🙃
Again I was taught the bare minimum in my apprenticeship and was self taught a lot by trail and error

First photo is a double vertical industrial exiting the conch and anti-tragus that I custom bent the barbells to fit done on my close friend Shelley REST IN POWER old friend 🙏❤️‍🔥🙏

Second photo was my first custom orbital through the forward helix and rook

Third photo was a vertical industrial done with PTFE custom piece

Fourth photo was my first attempt with a orbital piercing on the helix with a bent out horseshoe externally threaded! (All these were external and surgical steel back then) yikes 😖

Fifth photo surface knuckles done with curved barrels lol
He got in a fight at show and had to take them out early on

Sixth photo oh lawd I offered a free pair of wenis piercings
PTFE was a thing that came to my attention and I tried a couple different custom piercings with it.

Seventh photo was a super fun tongue project I did on a client over the early years

Eighth photo was several years down the road when I did my first triple vertical industrial this was after me evolving into implant grade titanium and internally threaded on a great client friend and human being Angie REST IN POWER friend I also scalpel tapered her lobes to a larger gauge (more on those projects in a next post or so)

Here are some of the Og piercings I did in my early days. The dimples and the vertical labret piercing were the first ones I ever did, and I’m forever grateful to my friend Erin for trusting me to do them back then. She still has them to this day! 🔥🙌🔥 I got very lucky being a big part of the hardcore/metal scene; I had a lot of scenie we**ie friends who let me try new piercings and ideas I had. The quad lip piercings I wish were a little more symmetrical 😑. The 4g tragus was my first time piercing a larger gauge, and I was so pumped about it. The Daith after you can see my shallow exit on the bottom this was way before I got guided into APP for seminars/classes and conference that’s when I evolved and learned so much from them and Fakir also forever grateful to them for their help and support 🙏❤️‍🔥🙏 Even though I’m in my 20yr mark I’m still intrigued by new techniques, jewelry, and taking classes, as well as going to conference

With me hitting my 20th year, I wanted to post some OG pictures of my path to where I am today 🥹 Here’s one of the first time I met in Washington, DC convention, I believe in 2009, I caught up with him at the Hampton Roads Convention a couple months ago and spoke on how much time has flown by!

I’m so thankful and blessed to be where I am in my career. I have most definitely evolved from my early days; a lot of it was self-taught, with trial and error along the way.

Next month will mark my 20th anniversary as a professional, licensed piercer here in Fredericksburg, Virginia 🥹 It’s been such an honor to serve our community in every form over the last two decades, and I look forward to the future as well.
