Sharing some important information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health to keep us all alert during this extreme heat day.

Hot days can affect anyone. If you are pregnant, a child or teen with asthma, or have a heart condition or other chronic health conditions, heat can make your health worse.

If your body gets too hot, you can get sick. Know the symptoms of your body overheating and know when to seek medical care.

Symptoms can include:

Muscle cramping
Unusually heavy sweating
Shortness of breath
Dizziness
Headaches
Weakness
Nausea

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), August 31, 2026.

This year’s theme is “25 Years On. Still Needed”. The theme reminds us that overdose affects people from every walk of life and that overdose prevention remains an urgent need.

We join with the CDC in honoring lives lost to overdose, supporting people affected by substance use, and sharing evidence based resources that can help save lives.

Remember those lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of families and friends, and reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths.

Centerville Clinics was proudly represented at the annual Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Show held at the Carmichaels & Cumberland Township Fire Company Firehall this past week.

For us, celebrating our region’s deep coal heritage goes hand-in-hand with protecting the health of the people who built it. Since 1955, we’ve stood by our communities we serve—including our coal workers through our specialized Black Lung Clinic.

Thank you goes out to the dedicated staff members who attended each evening providing valuable information on Centerville Clinics healthcare services, answering community questions, and distributing giveaways to everyone who stopped by our tables:
