The Hormone Edit- PCOS+Menopause COMPANY HISTORY:

ActiDerm is a brand name/trademark for a range of products owned & manufactured by Acti-Laboratories.

Hot flashes, stubborn WE|GHT, PCOS chaos there’s a reason, and it’s not “just get older.”
I help women (and men) 35-55 use pep.Tides + hormone-first strategy to fix the root cause. ActiDerm products are made in France & sold via a Direct Sales network of Ambassadors in UK. Acti-Laboratories core business is Contract Manufacturing for other companies/brands, this can be anything from inexpensive ha

nd wash for a Supermarket Chain to luxury Spa products for an exclusive chain of Spas. Most of the products which we make are sold outside the Eurozone, with the exception of France where we contract manufacture for a leading High Street brand. When the financial crisis struck in 2008 we very quickly found that our International customers could no longer afford to buy sufficient volume because the € remained too strong versus the $/£/₽, so we needed to think of ways to find new markets. Our ‘non-compete agreement’ in France excluded us developing that market, so we started to look at the DS market in UK. We saw that some very reputable brands were involved so in 2010 we started to develop our own brand specifically for the DS market. At the time DS was a very different approach, it was much more serious, involved lots of ‘hands on training’ so that representatives could sell via ‘Party Plan’. We finally launched into the market in June 2011. Our strategy differed from everyone else in that it was impossible to buy an ActiDerm Start Kit, instead, we required people to hold a personal launch Party with sales of £350+ & have 4 further confirmed bookings scheduled within 4 weeks. We found that our strict approach worked well & that everyone we recruited was serious about their career & had a deep knowledge of our products. Individual orders of £1500+ were very common & our personal sales average was amongst the highest in the industry……It was a success…..BUT…..It was a bit too serious to be a ‘part time job’ & our strict recruiting policy meant that we did not have many Ambassadors. In November 2014 ‘Younique’ launched into the UK market & we saw that lots of tens of thousands of people joined them & it looked like great fun, even though individual sales & earnings did not match ours, we certainly sat up & took notice! In March 2015 we turned ActiDerm upside down & for the first time we offered ‘Start Kits’ to buy. We created online rather than face to face support groups & training & most importantly, we focused on offering the ActiDerm opportunity to anyone who wanted it. We removed all targets & expectations, encouraging everyone to work without pressure & to achieve as much or as little as they wish…..ActiDerm exploded as a ‘fun job' not just a career….Although we still have more car drivers & big earners per head than any other DS competitor in our market. During 2014 the Currency market has shifted & now the € is much weaker compared with $/£/₽. As a result our Contract Manufacturing has huge renewed demand, which combined with more than 1000% sales growth by ActiDerm since March 2015, has caused us to make some important strategy decisions in order to cope with volume demand. We have decided that even though contract manufacturing is a good business, we ‘enjoy’ the excitement of seeing our own brand in the market & the real interaction & reaction of our customers & Ambassadors, therefor we decided that during 2016 we would launch our own brand into other markets, starting with USA, whilst simultaneously rationalising our contract manufacturing back to key accounts only. This will allow us sufficient time to develop new products & fulfil anticipated demand. In terms our our manufacturing processes, our ethics remain unchanged. Our Laboratory received a Government Environment Award for ‘low carbon footprint’. We have a recycling contract to deal with everything which enters our facility, be it glass, plastic or cardboard. Wherever possible we use recyclable materials for our packaging & everything which leaves our facility. Respect for past traditions as well as for the future has translated into our environmental involvement, Our new headquarters in UK & existing headquarters in France are developed as eco-sustainable centres constituted by 90% recyclable materials, where natural resources allow the lowering of energy consumption and a solar power system covers our consumption requirements. The same sensitivity is found in the making of our products which are created with only the finest ingredients. Our products are not tested on animals & we do not use ingredients which are. We believe that a strategy of sustainable quality combined with an adequate dose of ‘fun’ will ensure future success for Acti Laboratories brand & those representing it.

The calm one. The one people came to when everything was falling apart because you could hold it steady without breaking a sweat.

And lately you snapped at someone you love over something that would not have touched you two years ago. And the look on their face stayed with you longer than the moment did.

That is not who you are. But it keeps happening.

Here is what changed. Progesterone is your nervous system’s natural calming buffer. When progesterone drops during this transition that buffer disappears. Combine that with disrupted sleep, blood sugar swings, and a cortisol rhythm that is already off and you have a nervous system running on empty with nothing left to absorb the friction of a normal day.

You are not becoming someone different. You are running a system that is under-supported and over-demanded. Those are very different things and only one of them requires an apology.

Has your patience changed in ways that surprised you during this transition?

Why your joints hurt more than they used to. Estrogen plays a direct role in collagen production and when it drops that production slows. You feel it in your joints in the morning, in your skin, in your hair, all seemingly at the same time. These are not separate problems. They are one hormonal shift expressing itself in multiple places. Comment JOINTS if you have noticed these changes showing up together.

And you cannot explain it to anyone because on paper you got enough sleep. You went to bed at a reasonable time. You did not stay up scrolling. You did everything right.

Here is what is actually happening. Estrogen and progesterone both play a direct role in sleep architecture, specifically the deeper restorative stages your body needs to actually recover overnight. When those hormones shift during this transition your body stops reaching those stages consistently. You are cycling through lighter sleep instead of the deep sleep where real restoration happens.

Eight hours on the clock is not the same as eight hours of restoration. And no amount of earlier bedtimes fixes a hormonal sleep disruption.

Does your sleep feel like it stopped counting even when you get enough of it?

Okay TIL that a lot of B vitamins in regular multivitamins aren’t even in a form your body can use right away 😳

Modern Multi uses methylated vitamins instead, so your body doesn’t have to do extra work to convert them. Little things like this are why I trust this brand so much 🙌

Estrogen receptors exist in almost every tissue in your body which is why its decline creates a symptom picture that seems completely unrelated until you understand what’s happening. 👇

Dry eyes are one of the earliest and most overlooked signs estrogen supports tear production and the moisture barrier of the eye. Joint pain increases as estrogen loss reduces synovial fluid and increases systemic inflammation. Heart palpitations occur because estrogen directly influences heart rate regulation. Itchy skin with no rash is a histamine response to declining estrogen. The electrical skin sensation is a documented neurological estrogen symptom.

These are not random. They are a system-wide response to one hormone declining across every tissue it was supporting.

👇 Drop ESTROGEN and I’ll share which of these are most commonly reported first and what actually helps.

Reel 2 — Caption
The reason you are exhausted even after a full night of sleep. Sleep during menopause is not the same as sleep before it. Estrogen and progesterone both play a role in sleep architecture, the deeper restorative stages your body needs to actually recover. When those hormones shift your body stops reaching those stages consistently. Eight hours on the clock does not equal eight hours of restoration. Comment TIRED if you know exactly what this feels like.

There is always a moment. The symptom or the situation that finally sent you looking for real answers. 👇

For some it’s the WE|GHT that appeared overnight. For others the brain fog that made them question their own competence. The rage that scared them. The anxiety that arrived without warning. The exhaustion that sleep wouldn’t help.

Whatever your moment was it was valid. And it led you here.

This page exists because those moments deserve real answers. Not a shrug. Not another prescription. Not “it’s just aging.” Actual information that connects the dots.

👇 Fill in the blank below. Your answer might be exactly what someone else needs to see to know they’re not alone.

This is one of the most common and least talked about symptoms of this transition and it has a specific name. Cortisol dysregulation. Cortisol is supposed to be at its lowest point overnight. When menopause disrupts that rhythm, cortisol spikes in the middle of the night instead, waking you up like a fire alarm going off for absolutely nothing.

You are not a bad sleeper. You are a woman with a disrupted cortisol rhythm that nobody explained to you. Those are very different things.

Is the 3am wake-up something you are dealing with right now?

You are doing everything right and still gaining weight. Same food, same movement, same effort. What changed is your hormonal environment. Estrogen drops, insulin sensitivity drops with it, and your body shifts fat storage toward your midsection. The diet that worked at 35 was never designed for the hormonal reality of 45. You did not fail the diet. The diet was never built for this stage. Comment BUILT if this has been your last two years.

The notification startle is real. The 10pm second wind is real. The emotional whiplash that resolved itself before you could explain it is absolutely real. 😂 👇

All of it is cortisol. Chronically elevated cortisol keeps your nervous system running in low-level fight-or-flight around the clock. Every notification is a potential threat. Every quiet moment gets filled with a cortisol spike. Sleep gets disrupted right when it should be deepest.

For women in perimenopause with PCOS the baseline is already higher. Less estrogen means less cortisol buffering. The margin for normal stress is razor thin.

This is not your personality. This is your nervous system asking for real support.

👇 Drop CALM and I’ll share the cortisol reset routine that actually moves the needle.
