Penn-Mar Golf Classic Postponed to October 26⚠️A message to our golfers:

After evaluating course conditions, Hayfields Country Club has determined that the course will not be suitable for play on Monday due to the significant rainfall forecasted for Sunday. Based on their guidance, the decision was made to postpone the Penn-Mar Golf Classic.
👉The tournament has been rescheduled for:

We’re excited to share that this summer, we began construction on a single story home! Becky, Sherry, and Susan, who will be the residents of this new home, stopped by to help us celebrate this project, along with CEO Greg Miller to talk about what this home means to them. 
 
This home is a big step in our Aging in Place initiative. As the men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities that we serve age, single story homes are incredibly important to making sure that the place they call home is accessible to avoid relocating from the place and people they are familiar with.  
 
We’ll be sharing some updates moving forward on the progress of construction! Stay tuned!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our annual Carnival at Penn-Mar North a success! 🎪 It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many generous volunteers and donors, including but not limited to: Shrewsbury Area Centennial Lions Club, M&T Bank,

This carnival was not just a day of fun for the people we support, it was also a celebration of community and showed what happens when businesses, volunteers, civic leaders, and neighbors come together for a great cause! 👏

Meet our HEART Award recipients! Congratulations to our winners!❤️

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Mr. Earnest "Earnie" Heyne Jr.

Several team members that worked with Earnie have shared that Earnie was a kindhearted gentleman who enjoyed reading his newspaper and watching the birds gather at the feeder outside his window. He was always on the lookout for local events and yard sales to attend. During the week, Earnie enjoyed visiting the Senior Center, and on Sundays he rotated among several local churches. He loved trips to Knoebels, carnivals, and parades, and he never wanted to miss a fireworks show.

Earnie was also a devoted fan of The Wizard of Oz, and his room was filled with memorabilia celebrating the beloved classic. Today, we take comfort in imagining that Earnie has begun his journey down the Yellow Brick Road and is reunited with his parents in Heaven.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives were touched by Earnie's kindness, friendship, and joy. Further communication will be shared once funeral arrangements have been confirmed.

Team members have shared some of their favorite memories of Earnie:

“During a trip to the beach, Earnie was thrilled to spend the day with everyone. He enjoyed taking in all the sights and activity along the shore, especially watching people have fun. One of the things that caught his attention was seeing two children burying each other in the sand. He found it fascinating and talked about it for days afterward, sharing the story with a smile and remembering how much he enjoyed the outing.”

“Earnie enjoyed going to the Senior Center whenever he had the chance. One of the highlights of his visits was spending time with a friendly woman who had bright red hair. She was always especially kind to him, greeting him warmly and making him feel welcome. Earnie would smile whenever they talked, clearly enjoying her friendship and the attention she gave him.”

“I loved when we went to Great Wolf Lodge. Earnie enjoyed shopping, playing games in the arcade, and spending time at the water park, even if it was just putting his feet in the water. It was a really nice trip.”

Earnie's gentle spirit, curiosity, and enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures will be greatly missed. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his warm smile, his love of community, and the happiness he found in sharing experiences with others.
