Sue has been a member at Tamarac Wellness Center for over 8 years. She had completed the Momentum Program once before but then experienced some medical issues and got very sick. She came back to Tamarac and realized she had to make some changes. After talking with staff, it was recommended she enroll in the Momentum Program again.
This time around, Sue wanted to expand what she could do, not just walk on the track, she wanted to learn new machines and exercises.
Sue has struggled with medical issues for most of her life. As a teenager she wore a back brace for scoliosis, she struggled with her weight, has family history of diabetes, and had a knee replacement.
To be successful, Sue said, “You have to do it all! What you eat, exercise, and how you live – you have to be all in and willing and wanting to make a change.”
Sue was ready, committed, and set her mind to it.
Having perfect attendance, both times in the Program, Sue was not going to let her medical issues get her down, she knew she could still do it – and she did!
After completing the 12-week program, Sue is down almost 30 pounds, she has lowered her A1C and is off one blood pressure medication.
Sue shared that her biggest accomplishment is that she is still moving and does not have as many aches and pains.
When people ask her, how did you do it, Sue is happy to share about the Momentum Program at Tamarac, telling others that they should do it because they can and they will feel better.
The Momentum Program and Tamarac are also a social opportunity for Sue. She is widowed and wants to get out of the house; at Tamarac she can see familiar faces and chat with friends.
Tamarac is so proud of Sue and her many accomplishments. Keep up the great work and your commitment – congratulations!
