At 105 years young, Alice was surrounded by state and city officials, family, friends, and community members who gathered to honor her remarkable service as a World War II Navy nurse. As the oldest living veteran in Ohio and the second-oldest living veteran in the country, Alice represents a generation whose courage, sacrifice, and dedication helped shape our nation. The celebration was a beautiful opportunity to recognize not only her military service, but the incredible 105 years of life, history, and memories she carries with her. And in true Alice fashion, when asked how she felt about everyone coming together to celebrate her, she smiled and said, “I haven’t had a party like this in years!” ❤️🇺🇸 A truly special day for a truly extraordinary woman—thank you, Alice, for your service and for allowing us to celebrate you!

At 103 years young, Alice’s sister, Betty, was also honored for a lifetime devoted to serving others through education. A retired music teacher, Betty spent countless years sharing her love of music, inspiring generations of students, and leaving a lasting melody in the lives of those she taught. Together, Alice and Betty’s lives tell an extraordinary story of more than a century of service, achievement, and devotion to others—Alice through her courageous service as a World War II Navy nurse and Betty through her dedication to educating and inspiring young minds. But perhaps most special of all is the story they share as sisters: two remarkable women who have walked through more than a century of history side by side, supporting one another and leaving an incredible legacy of service, strength, and love. ❤️🎶🇺🇸

Last week we got a chance to create a special Live-A-Dream for Bob, or “Mr.Bob” as some of you might remember him as. He has meant so much to the Sandusky County Jr Fair Rabbit Committee and our fair family throughout the years. A dedicated committee member for many years, Bob has unfortunately been unable to attend fair events recently. This year we couldn’t let the chance slip by. Our campus reached out to the Rabbit Committee with a special request—to help bring Bob back to a place that holds so many wonderful memories for him. It was incredibly heartwarming to see Mr. Bob back at the fair, visiting the rabbit show, talking with exhibitors, and reconnecting with a community he has been such an important part of. Sometimes a dream isn’t about experiencing something new, but about returning to a place you’ve loved—and remembering just how much you’ve meant to the people there 🐇❤️
