VCB would like to thank East Central High School for allowing us to help students sign up for the CAlKIDS Scholarship. We enjoyed working with the students to determine whether they qualified for financial assistance for college or vocational training. Over the past few months, VCB has helped nearly 950 students register for their CalKids scholarships.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. A gentle reminder that mental health matters every single day, not just this month. At Valley Center for the Blind, we are committed to supporting those who need it and building a caring community. You are not alone, and support is always worth reaching for. Thank you to Fort Miller Middle School for having us over last week to their Mental Health Spring Carnival.

A huge thank you to Fresno Chaffee Zoo for welcoming Valley Center for the Blind as a vendor during Kids Day at the Zoo two weeks ago. We loved connecting with families, sharing resources, and spreading awareness about the CalKIDS Scholar program and the opportunities it can create for students and their futures. Through programs like CalKIDS Scholar, VCB has already helped students access educational support, resources, and guidance that encourage confidence and independence as they pursue their goals. We’re grateful for every chance to connect our community with tools that can make a lasting impact.
