The Foundation For Hope Village Dissatisfied with the few services available for individuals with similar diagnoses at that time, Mrs. The first home was opened in 1970 with six residents.

Our mission is to ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges thrive in a loving, safe, supportive community in which they live, learn, and work with purpose and dignity. Hope Village is a non-profit organization in Friendswood, Texas, founded by Bill and Lucille Williams in 1967 when they sought care for their daughter, Sally, who had been diagnosed as an infant with de

velopmental disabilities. Williams became the driving force behind the planning and building of the facility. She sought to create a place that would be a loving home for her daughter and others with similar disabilities. While Mr. and Mrs. Williams are no longer with us, the original vision and mission for Hope Village lives on and has evolved throughout the years into a place that has cared for many priceless souls while touching countless hearts along the way. There are many parts to Hope Village, in addition to the now five residential homes that reside on our 18-acre campus. The Hope Village Resale Shop, another integral part of our campus, offers unique thrift items at discounted prices such as clothing for the entire family, household items, books, toys, and more. The shop's current hours are 10 am to 4 pm Wednesday through Friday and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday. "Like new" item donations are currently being accepted and may be dropped off during normal resale hours of operation, or within the 24-hour drop box located on the north side of the shop. For large item donations such as furniture, we do request you call us at (281) 996-7045 to schedule a drop-off appointment. All proceeds directly support Villager programming and services. Our facility is also home to an amazing day program available to participants Monday through Friday. The Foundation for Hope Village is a 501 (c)(3) organization without state or federal funding. Our Villagers love a good game of bingo, so it was quite the treat when members of the National Charity League, Inc., Bay Area Chapter joined us to run bingo games for us. We loved the thrill of the game AND the prizes that came with winning. Thanks to all of their volunteers who showed up to play with us!

Earlier this month, we were treated to a private evening concert. Tucker Hart & Briean Day took time out of their busy schedules to host a beautiful night of music for our Villagers. We are so appreciative to both of them for bringing their gift of music to Hope. It was especially fun for Villagers who had met them at a previous Friendswood Rotary Club Maverick Session to introduce Tucker and Briean to the rest of the Hope Village family. Thank you both for such a joyful night.

So much fun with our Villagers - scooby snacks, beach balance, and a VW photo booth! Everyone got into the photo booth action, and the results were hilarious. On Thursday night, June 4th, we were honored to bring a team to the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce - Texas "No Experience Necessary" Bowling Tournament, presented by AMOCO Federal Credit Union. We brought a lively team to the competition and walked away with the "Most Team Spirit Award." The love and inclusion we feel at these events are hard to put into words and are a testament to the wonderful community that surrounds Hope Village. Our peanuts gang had a blast!
