The Foundation For Hope Village

The Foundation For Hope Village Dissatisfied with the few services available for individuals with similar diagnoses at that time, Mrs. The first home was opened in 1970 with six residents.

Our mission is to ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges thrive in a loving, safe, supportive community in which they live, learn, and work with purpose and dignity. Hope Village is a non-profit organization in Friendswood, Texas, founded by Bill and Lucille Williams in 1967 when they sought care for their daughter, Sally, who had been diagnosed as an infant with de

velopmental disabilities. Williams became the driving force behind the planning and building of the facility. She sought to create a place that would be a loving home for her daughter and others with similar disabilities. While Mr. and Mrs. Williams are no longer with us, the original vision and mission for Hope Village lives on and has evolved throughout the years into a place that has cared for many priceless souls while touching countless hearts along the way. There are many parts to Hope Village, in addition to the now five residential homes that reside on our 18-acre campus. The Hope Village Resale Shop, another integral part of our campus, offers unique thrift items at discounted prices such as clothing for the entire family, household items, books, toys, and more. The shop's current hours are 10 am to 4 pm Wednesday through Friday and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday. "Like new" item donations are currently being accepted and may be dropped off during normal resale hours of operation, or within the 24-hour drop box located on the north side of the shop. For large item donations such as furniture, we do request you call us at (281) 996-7045 to schedule a drop-off appointment. All proceeds directly support Villager programming and services. Our facility is also home to an amazing day program available to participants Monday through Friday. The Foundation for Hope Village is a 501 (c)(3) organization without state or federal funding. Dear Friends,
I have had the honor of working with you for many precious years; you have always been there to support Hope and enable me to take care of the Villagers that I love. In the process, I have made friendships that I will always treasure.

I will be retiring from Hope Village in mid-2027, and I look forward to pursuing the next chapter of my life and spending time with my family.

I have the utmost confidence in my staff and in the transition team created by the Board of Directors, and I look forward to supporting the next chapter of Hope.

I love you! Sharon

We are over the moon to announce that we received an incredible grant from the Moody Foundation for the purchase of 4 new 15-person transit vans and a midsize SUV to help transport our Villagers off campus for field trips, doctor visits, and community functions. This incredible gift provides years of safe and comfortable transport for our Villagers, and we are deeply appreciative of the Trustees & Staff of the Moody Foundation for their investment in Hope through this grant.

We had a blast with our National Charity League, Inc., Space City Chapter friends as we enjoyed all things trains! Each table designed its own train, and then we all worked together to design a fantastic train track for our trains to "race" on. We so loved having time with our friends before they start school again; this summer has been so much fun with them here!

Each classroom wrote its own movie plot and acted it out for the entire group. Everyone had a blast, and the plots and characters were unique to each class, and a joy to watch. Enjoy one of the classroom entries, "Grandpa Got His Groove Back!" featuring Villager Kerry and Group Lead Susan. It was a hoot!

24 days from now, we invite you to join us "Into the Garden" to help sprinkle the Villagers with Hope as we raise funds to support our mission. This year's fundraising goal of $150,000 will go to support the state-mandated sprinkler updates in Houses 2-5. With the total project cost equaling $500,000, the funds raised at Lounge are critical to helping support this project. As we receive no state or federal funding, it is the support of our incredible community that has allowed us to serve our mission for almost 60 years.

Enjoy craft cocktails, vintage arcade games, dazzling flowers, incredible food from Buffalo Catering Co., silent and live auctions, and our Emcee extraordinaire Scott Dayton. Hope to see you there!
