You've heard of weird things ending up in the ER... but a grill brush bristle in your throat might be the strangest one. 🍔🔥 Every summer, ENT doctors see cases of tiny wire bristles — shed from worn-out grill brushes — hiding in burgers and hot dogs, then getting swallowed and lodged in the throat or digestive tract. It sounds rare, but it happens more than people think.

To avoid adding brush bristles to your BBQ menu, inspect your grates before cooking, or swap to a nylon brush or grill stone. Stay safe and enjoy the long weekend!
