🦶 Not every bunion needs a major reconstruction. For some patients, a minimally invasive "mini" bunionectomy can correct the deformity through smaller incisions — meaning less tissue disruption and a smoother recovery.

It's not the right fit for every bunion, but for the right candidate, it's a great option to discuss with your podiatric surgeon.

💬 Have you been told you might be a candidate for minimally invasive bunion surgery? Ask us your questions below.

An ingrown toenail can start as a small irritation—but without proper treatment, it can lead to increased pain, swelling, and infection. 🦶⚠️

Treatment depends on the severity of the ingrown nail. Some cases may improve with simple care, while others may require professional treatment or a procedure to prevent the problem from coming back.

Don’t let an ingrown toenail keep you from your favorite shoes or activities. 👟✨

🦶 September is Pain Awareness Month — and chronic foot or ankle pain is one of the most common types of pain people simply learn to live with.

Whether it's heel pain first thing in the morning, ongoing joint pain, or discomfort that limits what you can do, there's usually an underlying cause — and often a treatment option, surgical or not.

You don't have to just manage it forever.

💬 What foot or ankle pain have you been living with longer than you probably should? Tell us below.

🦵⚠️ An Achilles tendon rupture often comes with a sudden pop or snap — and sometimes the sensation that someone kicked you in the back of the leg, even when no one did.

Signs of a rupture:
🔹 Sudden, sharp pain in the back of the ankle or calf
🔹 A popping or snapping sound at the moment of injury
🔹 Difficulty pointing your toes or pushing off to walk
🔹 Swelling and bruising that develops quickly

This is not a “walk it off” injury. An Achilles rupture needs prompt evaluation — the sooner it's treated, the better the recovery. 🏥

🦶🔥 Bursitis happens when the small fluid-filled sacs that cushion your joints get irritated from repetitive impact — common in runners, dancers, and anyone logging serious mileage.

Signs of bursitis:

🔹 Swelling and tenderness around the heel or ankle

🔹 Pain that worsens with activity, especially running or jumping

🔹 Warmth or redness over the affected area

🔹 Stiffness that makes it hard to “warm up” out of

The good news: bursitis usually responds well to rest, targeted treatment, and addressing what's causing the repetitive irritation in the first place — before it becomes a chronic problem. 🧊

Not all ankle problems are treated the same way. 🦶

Depending on your injury, symptoms, and lifestyle, different surgical options may be considered—from repairing damaged ligaments to treating arthritis or stabilizing fractures.

Common ankle surgeries include ankle fracture repair, ligament repair, ankle fusion, and ankle arthroscopy. The right approach starts with a proper diagnosis and personalized treatment plan.

If ankle pain or instability is affecting your daily life, it may be time to get answers.

🤔🦴 Not every bunion needs surgery — but here's how to know when it's time to seriously consider it.
Signs surgery may be the right next step:
🔹 Pain that limits daily activities, even in wider shoes
🔹 The bump keeps growing or your big toe keeps drifting further out of alignment
🔹 Non-surgical options (padding, orthotics, shoe changes) no longer help
🔹 Difficulty walking, exercising, or standing for normal periods of time
If that sounds familiar, our Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction with Patient-Specific Instrumentation might be exactly the option you've been looking for — real correction, not just a temporary fix. ✅

📺🏆 It's not every day your bunion surgeon gets featured on Good Morning Texas — but that's exactly what happened when Dr. Tavakoli sat down to talk about advanced solutions for bunion deformities.
A few things worth knowing:
🔹 Dr. Tavakoli has performed more Lapiplasty® surgeries than any female surgeon in the USA
🔹 She's safely completed hundreds of these cases
🔹 The Lapiplasty technique corrects the entire 3D deformity, built for reliable, reproducible results
🔹 It's designed to reduce the risk of bunion recurrence years down the road
When it comes to bunion correction, experience matters — and this is exactly the kind of experience you want on your case. 🎯
