The nervous system is the body’s master command center that takes in data from the senses & informs the body how to behave. Essentially, the nervous system is HOW we make sense of the world. Yet, for so many, the nervous system is operating in dysregulation, that is, a rhythm that is stuck in high alert or shut down largely due to modern chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, & trauma. So if the nervous system is the one running the show, we must discover ways to return to regulation. We must remember the inextricable interconnection between our brain & our bodies so that we may better interrupt cycles of chronic stress, distinguish our past from our present, grow our capacity to meet what is, and access greater possibility & choice for ourselves.

In this experiential workshop we will learn practical somatic tools to support trauma healing, resolve chronic stress & pain, regulate emotions, & build greater capacity for safety, resilience, and connection. We dive deep into the role of the vagus nerve & explore how breath, movement, awareness, & nervous system regulation can support your body’s natural capacity to heal.

Join us for a somatic journey of expanding your capacity for life.

Why is hyperindividualism so often worn like a badge of honor? Yes, having an authentic, unique sense of I is important to know who we are & what is important to us as individuals, but we also need a felt sense that we belong to the pack.

Human connection is wired in our biology. Research shows that supportive relationships are one of the greatest predictors of survival, development, lifelong health, & happiness.

Yet, for so many individuals, connection is one of life’s greatest challenges. Some push closeness away while they yearn for connection. Some lose themselves in partnership. Many struggle with effectively communicating their feelings. Others simply desire more intimacy & depth.

Despite the profound significance that human connection has on our physical, mental, & emotional well-being, most of us aren’t taught HOW to be in relationship with others.

We need a supportive foundation to grow these skills. We need to learn how to be in connection with others while still holding a connection to ourselves, how to be seen, how to communicate effectively, how to embody boundaries, how to say yes when we mean yes, how to say no when we mean no, how to give AND receive love, how to become a source of safety for ourselves so that we can respond to others in the present moment rather than from past wounds or automatic protective patterns.

We will explore this in the next Embodied Living workshop where we will explore the Somatics of Human Connection & the Art of Relating. In this experiential workshop we will delve into the biology of human connection, attachment theory & practical tools to build secure relationships, partner practices to build authentic relating & effective communication, the art of giving & receiving, embodied boundary & consent, & somatic practices that foster deeper connection with yourself & others.

Humans are biologically wired for social connection. Our capacity to connect deeply influences how we develop, regulate stress, learn, & shapes our physical & psychological health. Our relationships can offer some of the most potent mirrors into our deepest, innermost layers, reflecting back who we are as well as the parts of ourselves that may need some tending to.

Yet, for so many, relating to other human beings is one of life’s greatest challenges. Some experience social anxiety, others feel suffocated by commitment & vulnerability, others struggle with communicating their feelings, others feeling alone even in relationship to others, some losing themselves in the partnership, or others simply craving more intimacy & depth.

Despite the profound significance that human connection has on our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, most of us aren’t taught HOW to be in relationship with others. Many of us learn from the examples of our environment, or by trial & error.

We will explore this in the next Embodied Living workshop where we will explore the Somatics of Human Connection and the Art of Relating. In this experiential workshop we will delve into the biology of human connection, attachment theory, how to understand your personal attachment style to build secure relationships, authentic relating, the art of giving & receiving, embodied boundary & consent, and somatic practices that foster deeper connection with yourself & others.

Find people who bring out your playfulness!!

One of the things that we discovered in The Somatics of Play workshop is that play has a powerful capacity to build & strengthen relationships. Playful activities often require figuring something out, or co-creating something together, which helps to improve communication & cooperation. Play also creates a low-stakes environment where it’s ok to make mistakes and be free to be oneself, creating a level of emotional safety & trust that deepens connection.

One of my favorite ways to play is through AcroYoga which is a dynamic partner practice that blends yoga and acrobatics. Play can also be sharing a laugh, playing a game, exploring a new place, or simply being silly together. Regardless the type, Play helps relationships thrive by creating experiences of joy, safety, and belonging.

We will build on this in the next Embodied Living Workshop where we will explore the Somatics of Human Connection. In this workshop we will unpack how we are biologically wired for connection, Attachment Theory, Authentic Relating, How to embody boundaries, and how to build nourishing relationships while still holding an individual sense of I, and so much more!

Play is often viewed as a luxury, a frivolous pastime that holds importance only for children. Yet, when we take a closer look at its role in human development, it becomes clear that play is not only essential for children, but for ALL people across ALL stages of life. Play is one of the body’s most natural pathways to creativity, connection, emotional resilience, & healing. From a somatic perspective, play invites the nervous system into states of curiosity, spontaneity, & coherence—allowing us to move beyond patterns of tension, rigidity, & judgment. Physiologically, play is one of the primary antidotes to stress. And, the exciting news, play is one of the most accessible pathways back to aliveness because it is not dependent on circumstances—it is simply a quality of how we relate to the present moment.

In this experiential workshop, we will explore how playful movement, curiosity, imagination, & embodied awareness can help the body release stress & reconnect with our vitality. Through simple somatic practices, participants will rediscover the intelligence of the body when it is allowed to move, express, experiment, & explore without pressure or performance.

Together we will playfully explore:
•The Science of Play
•Why imagination is required for Somatic Healing & Transformation
•How play impacts your intrapersonal, social, & professional relationships
•The Modern Play Deficit
•Identify Types of Play that Resonate with you
•Strategies to overcome the barriers to play
•Techniques to use play as a tool for emotional healing & resilience

Join us for a playful & supportive space to awaken joy, creativity, & presence—remembering that play is not frivolous, but a powerful pathway back to aliveness, resilience, & authentic expression.

What is Somatics?

Somatics is a holistic theory & methodology that supports individual & collective transformation & healing. The word Somatics comes from the Greek root Soma which means the living organism in its wholeness. Wholeness as in all parts of you are included. Mind, body, spirit AND somatics also recognizes our beingness as social creature deeply connected to the environment. Essentially, somatics is the totality of what it means to be human- mind, body, spirit, community, family, social norms, institutions, & landscape. All of this deeply shapes who we are & how we move through the world.

The practice of somatics bridges our current, lived experience, or how we have been taught to live, with how we desire to live our lives. This means in order for change to occur, we must first create space for what is already is. We do this not by jumping into the center of a trauma vortex, but rather by sloooooowly building capacity in the nervous system, pendulating between spaces of resilience & activation. The slooooooowly part is really important because your current reality is a collection of everything that has made you who you are, your entire lifetime, even prior to conception experiences. In order to change that timeline will require consistent practice, commitment, & patience. Single, overnight transformations rarely, if ever occur simply because repatterning our psyche & nervous system takes time.

Another important piece of this process is learning how to listen to the way that our body communicates. How does your body communicate? Through Sensation. We look at this sensation to understand the unique way that the individual has learned to respond to life- bracing patterns & embodied protective strategies. So we do not suppress or repress the natural, somatic responses but rather move in the direction of them so as to complete the thwarted stress response in the body.

Somatics understands the connection between our inner physiology & our outer reality. There is no separating mind from body or inner & outer. Somatics includes the whole person in its practice. And as such, is one of the most sustainable, root cause methodologies I have yet to discover.

Spring is a season of emergence—when what has been quietly gestating begins to take form. Just as the earth awakens and blossoms, we too carry a deep creative life force within our bodies waiting to be expressed.

In this experiential somatic workshop for women, we will explore the body as a source of wisdom, creativity, and manifestation. Through guided somatic practices, breath, movement, and gentle relational exercises, we will reconnect to sensation, awaken sensual aliveness, and create space for what wants to grow in our lives.

Together we will explore:
•Reconnecting to the body’s wisdom, & innate creative, life force
•Awakening sensuality as a pathway to living a fuller, more embodied life
•Desire as an arrow pointing towards authenticity & what is most important to us
•Understanding the language of the body for creation, expression, & liberation
•Cultivating clarity & embodiment around what we are calling into our lives
•The Art of Giving & Receiving
•Quantum Law & The Science of Possibility

Because of the nature & vulnerability of the space, it is being offered to Women only. Please inquire if you fall out of this category and would like to explore similar themes

This space will also invite curiosity, authenticity, compassionate connection with self, and awakens your heart’s deepest desires. No prior somatic experience is necessary—only a willingness to listen to the wisdom of your body.

Come as you are, and step into the becoming of your own inner spring.

Hello, World! Kálya & Ayesha here & we are super excited to share a very special offering with our Utah community!

Tenderness & Tension is a workshop where we will explore human connection through authenticity, play, intentional touch, & rope.

Ayesha is a Clinical Somatic Therapist and Movement Educator, 500+ ERYT, somatic breathwork facilitator, trauma informed care provider, & playful student of life! One of the primary aspects of her work is teaching individuals how to understand the language of their body, release the thwarted stress that gets stuck in the body, and expand their capacity to live a life of greater freedom, possibility & choice! She has been offering some of the tools we will be exploring in our workshop together with her clients as well as devoted herself to them for her own personal healing and growing journey for the past 5 years.

Kálya is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) with a focus on Myoskeletal Alignment Technique. He has a passion for acrobatics and partner circus arts, where collaboration, communication,& trust are fundamental. He is also a seeker of knowledge and unconventional ways of relating to other humans. His curiosity with rope as a pathway to self-discovery & creating intimacy in relationships began 5 years ago and he is continuously intrigued by the never-ending pathways that rope can lead.

We have found the practices we have chosen for our workshop to be deeply enriching and connecting for our personal relationship we are growing. We have found when there is tension, the practices bring us back to tenderness. We can’t wait to share them with you!
