🚑 Employee of the Week | Cherokee County EMS

We’re excited to begin highlighting employees from one of the newest additions to the Cherokee County team — Cherokee County EMS! Since officially beginning operations, this team has hit the ground running, providing excellent emergency medical care to our residents from day one. Behind that service are dedicated professionals who have stepped up, worked together, and embraced what it means to serve Cherokee County.

This week, we’re proud to recognize Eve Roque, an EMT on Blue Shift currently assigned to Medic 4.

Eve brings a strong work ethic and a steady, positive presence to CCEMS. She is known for never complaining, stepping in wherever she is needed, and even picking up overtime to help make sure our county has the coverage it needs.

Eve joined CCEMS from Prisma Health, bringing valuable experience and a commitment to quality patient care every day. She has quickly become a reliable and respected member of the EMS team.

And when she’s not taking care of Cherokee County residents, we hear Eve is also a fantastic home cook! 👩‍🍳

We appreciate Eve’s dedication, teamwork, humor, and willingness to go above and beyond.

Congratulations to our Employee of the Week!

Cherokee County is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our employees, who passed away yesterday afternoon. This is a heartbreaking loss for our community, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and coworkers during this incredibly difficult time.

John Dover was a new employee in the Cherokee County Solid Waste Department. Facts related to this incident are in the process of being gathered and Cherokee County wants to ensure that any information it provides related to this terrible tragedy is accurate out of respect for the County’s citizens and John’s family and loved ones. The County will provide updates as soon as confirmed information becomes available.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who knew John and to those mourning his passing.

Our hearts are heavy this morning as our community mourns the tragic loss of a young life.

Cherokee County extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, classmates, teachers, and everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence. There are simply no words that can ease the heartbreak of a family or a community facing a loss like this.

As we keep this student’s loved ones and our school community in our thoughts and prayers, we also ask that you remember the first responders who answered the call this morning — all law enforcement officers, 911 dispatchers, EMS personnel, firefighters, and others who responded and continue to work through this tragedy.

Our first responders are called into moments most of us hope never to witness. They carry the responsibility of protecting our community while also experiencing the human weight of the scenes they encounter.

Today, we hurt together as one Cherokee County community.

Please keep this family, our students and school staff, our first responders, and all those affected in your thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead.

🚑At 12:01 a.m. on July 1, Cherokee County EMS officially became operational.🚑

In our first 12 hours of service, our crews responded to 24 calls, demonstrating their dedication from the very beginning. From our very first patient transport to our first air medical flight, every call reflected the professionalism, teamwork, and commitment of serving our community. Every Patient Every Time
