Negativity starts in the mind and if not dealt with usually ends by coming out of our mouth. One of the enemies tactics is to plant seeds of negativity in our mind. Negative thoughts can take on many forms such as fear, bitterness, offense, hurt, depression, low esteem (toward yourself and others), envy, feelings of inadequacy, isolation, exclusion and loneliness. Negative thinking is designed to keep you from progressing and keep you in a suspended state. The good news is The Lord Jesus Christ has given us a solution and strategy for breaking the up and down cycle of negative emotions. The key to overcoming this destructive practice can be found in Philippians 4:8 where it says “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Receive the grace of God to dwell on the right things and reject wrong thinking. As always, remember to grow in grace one day at a time.
