23 years ago, Jenn Cobbs, PA-C and I met in 🥼PA school 🩺 with big dreams and no idea where life would take us. Fast forward and somehow life brought us full circle, and several years ago we reunited through the world of aesthetics.
I have such a great deal of respect 🙌personally and professionally for this ✨BADDIE✨ and was grateful to get to spend an afternoon with her reviewing, learning and discussing such a wide array of subjects related to rejuvination. She is masterful in her craft and has a gift of studying information and relaying that knowledge to both the newbies and the seniors in the field. Grateful for friendships that stand the test of time and journeys that reconnect us in the most unexpected ways.
As a bonus, we got to welcome to the training a recent physician associate graduate and new employee to Northeast Georgia Plastic Surgery, Rileigh Whitmore, PA. She is going to do incredible things and I am proud to call her a colleague and a friend.
What a day‼️ There is always something new to learn 🧐📖.

Absolutely wild‼️ Didn’t expect to end up surrounded by blue ghost fireflies in the north Georgia mountains, buuuuuuut I did 😊. And it turned into one of the most surreal experiences I’ve ever had.

Blue ghost fireflies are a rare species found in the Southern Appalachians, and instead of flashing, they glow continuously with an eerie blue-green light. Watching them float silently through the woods felt like something out of a movie. 🌲

This lovely gem wanted to improve symmetry and increase the volume of the upper lip in proportion to her lower lip. I think we are well on our way to meeting our goals 🎉 and some bonus improvements also‼️

She is celebrating herself and allowing herself permission to treat herself 💕. What a priviledge it is for me to get to be a part of her journey⭐️.

What can we expect? Initial swelling will subside soon and she will be left with soft pillowy lips with beautiful contour 💋. Together, she and I will decide if any further tweaks are needed 😊.

The best sunglasses protect the eye, fit well, don’t pull on our hair, sit on the head solidly, help us see clearly and fit the look we want ☀️🕶️.

Not all sunglasses are created equal. Without proper UV protection, our eyes are still exposed to harmful rays that can lead to long term damage to the eye itself, as well as the skin surrounding the eye.

I have been told that when choosing sunglasses, we need to look for 100% UV protection or UV400, shielding our eyes from both UVA and UVB rays. Dark lenses alone don’t mean better protection!

Let’s start with the BASICS‼️
I find that a lot of patients are confused on where to start 🤷‍♀️. It’s important that we put the priorities in order. Let’s make it a habit to stop majoring on the minor and minor on the majors. It’s time to refocus on what actually works.

The two highest value anti-aging tools:
☀️ Sunscreen
🌙 Retinoids

Simplified:
☀️ Sunscreen protects against UV induced collagen breakdown and pigmentation.
🌙 Retinoids support cell turnover and stimulate collagen production.
