More bleeding does not mean better microneedling.

Bleeding can happen when needles reach living skin, but it is not a score for treatment quality. Needle depth, speed, treatment area, skin characteristics, and the specific device all matter. The goal is controlled, appropriate treatment—not chasing blood.

The scale can’t tell you whether weight change came from fat mass or lean mass.

In a 160-participant DXA substudy within the randomized SURMOUNT-1 trial, 72 weeks of tirzepatide reduced both. About 74% of weight lost was fat mass and 26% was lean mass—a group average, not an individual prediction. The study did not test one specific muscle-preservation strategy.

That’s why a thoughtful metabolic plan can look beyond one number and may track strength, activity, nutrition, symptoms, and body composition when appropriate.
