Taking a moment to (re)introduce myself and the vision behind Bloom Health—especially for those who’ve just joined our community. I’m Naomi Mostkoff—a Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Bloom Health, an affirming primary care practice rooted in Gainesville, Florida.

I provide full-scope primary care with a focus on building relationships that center on safety, trust, and whole-person wellness. From preventive care to chronic condition management, I believe primary care should be collaborative, empowering, and inclusive.

The value of one’s own lived experience/perspective/insight—within the context of being a patient receiving healthcare—cannot be understated. I’ve witnessed the significance of this from both ends of the spectrum: in the ‘provider role’ caring for my patients and in the ‘patient role’ navigating my own care within the larger healthcare system. I believe you are the expert in your own health, and I aim to bring this into all my patient interactions at Bloom Health.

10 months ago, I made the tough decision to leave my role at a research hospital, completely drained and worn out—much like many others in the healthcare field. With almost 60% of healthcare workers facing burnout, I realized I wasn’t alone in feeling disconnected and overwhelmed.

After months of soul-searching, I began to reconnect with my core values and rediscover the passion that first drew me to this work.
