Mentorship can open doors to incredible opportunities.

This Thankful Thursday, we’re celebrating our providers who invest their time, knowledge and passion to help shape the next generation of medical professionals.

Read about how pediatric cardiologist Dr. Jeffery Jacobs’ guidance helped former Gator gymnast and two-time Olympic alternate Leanne Wong, M.S., turn her passion for science and medicine into meaningful research through her work with the UF Health Congenital Heart Center team.

We’re grateful for the providers who inspire, teach and help build the future of medicine!

It doesn’t take long.

A quick distraction, and everyone thinks someone else is watching.

Because drowning is often silent, those moments can quickly become dangerous.

As of June 12, 50 children have drowned in Florida in 2026.

Kourtney Guthrie, M.D., a pediatric critical care physician at UF Health, has a simple reminder: Keep your eyes on the water.

Assign one adult to that job. No phone. No distractions.

Please share this message with anyone spending time around water this summer.
