Active Aging Week continues at Asbury Methodist Village!

It’s been a week full of learning, movement, delicious food, and plenty of fun!

On Tuesday, residents enjoyed an educational nutrition presentation, complete with a demonstration led by team members from Giant Food on how to make a delicious and nutritious guacamole.

Later that afternoon, we explored the Blue Zones approach to healthy eating and enjoyed a Blue Zones-inspired menu featuring Tuscan white bean, kale and tomato soup; Mediterranean chickpea and cucumber salad; and a sweet potato black bean and power bowl salad.

Then on Wednesday, it was time to get moving! Residents and associates hit the dance floor for a lively tea dance, enjoying line dancing, great music, and lots of smiles.

Active Aging Week is all about celebrating the many ways we can stay active, engaged, and connected, and we’re having a wonderful time doing just that!

Active Aging Week is off to a great start at Asbury Methodist Village!

Residents and associates kicked off the week with a one-mile walk around our beautiful campus. With music, great company, and perfect weather, it was a wonderful way to get moving and enjoy time together!

And we’re just getting started! We have more activities planned throughout the week, including nutrition lectures, specialty fitness classes, a Tea Dance, a labyrinth walk, a Sock Hop, and much more.

Active aging is about finding ways to keep moving, stay connected, and enjoy the things that bring us joy.

Celebrating 100 Years With Our Community

What better way to celebrate 100 years of community and service than together!

Asbury Methodist Village celebrated its Centennial in partnership with GBCI - Gaithersburg Beloved Community Initiative during the organization’s annual Community Day. With beautiful weather setting the stage, residents, associates, and members of the greater community came together for a wonderful day filled with games, great music, delicious food, and plenty of fun.

As we celebrate 100 years of service and community, we are especially grateful for partnerships that connect Asbury with the community around us. GBCI is a nonprofit organization rooted in intergenerational service, community listening, and collective action, bringing together older adult volunteers and community partners to support children, youth, and families throughout Gaithersburg.

Thank you to GBCI and everyone who joined us for this special celebration. Here’s to 100 years of community, connection, and service, and to the relationships that will carry us into the next 100!

What a great day to celebrate our amazing associates!

Asbury Methodist Village associates enjoyed a fun-filled Associate Appreciation event featuring music, games, delicious food, and, of course, plenty of great company!

At Asbury, we are incredibly grateful for the dedication, energy, and heart the associates bring to our community every day. Thank you for all you do to help make Asbury Methodist Village such a wonderful place to live and work.

GBCI - Gaithersburg Beloved Community Initiative’s 4th Annual Community Day is almost here!

This free, family-friendly event brings the Gaithersburg community together for a day of food, music, games and activities for all ages. This year, Asbury Methodist Village is excited to celebrate our 100th anniversary alongside GBCI and our neighbors throughout the community.
