Severe anxiety goes well beyond everyday stress or worry. It can feel consuming — like your nervous system is stuck in a constant state of threat, even when nothing is actually wrong.
➡Physically, it might show up as a racing heart, chest tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, or muscle tension that never fully lets go.
➡Mentally, it can look like racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating, catastrophic thinking, or an inability to be present.
Many people with severe anxiety describe feeling exhausted all the time simply from the effort of managing it — and often, they've been living this way so long it feels normal. It isn't, and it's very treatable.

❓Do you treat severe anxiety or just mild worry❓
We treat the full spectrum — from everyday worry that's gotten out of hand to severe anxiety that's significantly disrupting your life. You don't need to minimize what you're experiencing to reach out, and you don't need to wait until things are at a breaking point either.
For more severe anxiety, our therapists are trained in approaches that go beyond surface-level coping skills.
🌿EMDR and Brainspotting in particular are well-suited for anxiety that has deeper roots — whether in past experiences, relational patterns, or nervous system dysregulation that's been present for a long time.

📝 The Power of Journaling: Small Habit, Big Impact

Taking just a few minutes each day to write can make a meaningful difference in your mental and emotional well-being. Journaling isn’t about perfect words—it’s about honest ones.

✨ Why People Journal:
🌿Mental Health: Provides a safe outlet to unload heavy emotions, manage anxiety, and externalize internal chaos.
🌿Self-Reflection: Helps identify behavioral patterns and triggers.
🌿Goal Setting: Solidifies abstract thoughts into concrete, actionable steps.

💡How do I know if I need anxiety therapy?
If anxiety is regularly interfering with your daily life — your work, relationships, sleep, or ability to do things you want to do — it's worth talking to someone. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If worry feels hard to control, or if you're avoiding things because of anxiety, those are meaningful signs that support could help.
Some specific things to look for:
✔️Persistent worry that's hard to turn off, even when you know it's out of proportion
✔️Avoiding situations, places, or relationships because of fear or dread
✔️Physical symptoms like tension, racing heart, or stomach issues that don't have a medical cause
✔️Difficulty sleeping because your mind won't slow down
✔️Feeling on edge, irritable, or exhausted from managing anxiety constantly

If you recognize yourself in any of these, reaching out for a consultation is a good first step. You don't have to have it all figured out before you call.

Have you ever wondered why our bodies seem to “hold onto” stress, even long after a difficult experience has passed?

In "The Body Keeps the Score," Dr. Bessel van der Kolk explores how trauma doesn’t just live in our minds—it lives in our bodies, too. From chronic tension to emotional overwhelm, our nervous system remembers what we’ve been through.

This powerful book sheds light on:
🧠 How trauma impacts the brain and body
✨ How trauma is stored in the body
🌿 The importance of body-based healing approaches like mindfulness, movement, and connection

Healing isn’t about “just getting over it.” It’s about learning to feel safe in your body again.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, this book offers both understanding and hope.

💬 Have you read it? What stood out to you?
