Come proctor a simulation lab with me…
These days are always long with running through critically ill patients scenarios.
In a past life (lol) I worked in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care which actually made me fall in love with doing procedures like central lines, chest tubes, suturing, bedside ultrasound nerve blocks etc. Im now more sports medicine and regenerative focused, but the fun is still there lol
After working in COVID ICU, which was still during my first year as an NP, I told myself I had nothing else to prove as far as being able to manage the sickest patients.
I actually really loved Trauma because I was able to see all kinds of injuries like broken femurs, rib fractures, gun s**t wounds, stab wounds, you name it….But, my love for sports kept calling me to start fully transitioning into orthopedics.
After working in ortho surgery, outpatient pain management, and outpatient sports medicine, here I am 🙃
Sometimes I miss hospital life…Most of the time I don’t 😂
Mostly I miss being in action and seeing the progression of a true trauma patient from the bay to discharge.
For now, I’ll stay on the sidelines and in the classroom lol 🫡
