I’ve been thinking about something new for Health+Hormones, and I’d love to know what our community thinks.
What if primary care looked different?
I’m considering adding a Direct Primary Care membership to Health+Hormones for people who want a more personalized and proactive approach to their health.
This would not be traditional primary care.
There would be no insurance billing. Instead, you would pay a monthly membership fee for your primary care services. By keeping the patient panel intentionally small, I would be able to spend more time with each person and focus on the bigger picture of their health, not just getting through a list of symptoms in a 15 minute appointment.
The approach would also be different.
Instead of waiting until something is abnormal enough to treat, we could look more closely at things like hormone health, thyroid function, metabolic health, insulin resistance, gut health, nutrient deficiencies, sleep, stress, weight, cardiovascular risk, prevention, and healthy aging.
And, of course, I would still be there for your everyday primary care needs.
The goal would be to look beyond whether your labs are simply “normal” and ask a better question: Are you actually feeling and functioning your best?
You would have a primary care provider who knows you, knows your health history, has time to listen, and can take a more comprehensive and individualized approach to your care.
Before I take this idea any further, I want to know if there is actually a need for it in our community.
Would you be interested in a membership based primary care option like this?

And if you are interested, I would love to hear what you would want included in a membership like this.
This is just an interest check for now. I’m listening.
