WHY SAKS WELLNESS CENTER

Saks Wellness Center was built on bringing clinical and natural care together. Since 1976 we've offered chiropractic care alongside functional nutrition, neuropathy care, laser therapy and massage, all under one roof and one care team. Alternative therapies are part of how we treat patients, and our doctors support them.

For a massage therapist, that means you can do both kinds of work in one place. Your massage is part of each patient's care plan, and you have room to offer therapies like craniosacral, cupping, reflexology, lymphatic drainage and acupressure where appropriate. You work side by side with chiropractors who have practiced this way for years.

WHAT THIS JOB OFFERS YOUR CAREER

Many massage therapists got into the work to help people feel better. Here, that's the absolute center of the job. You see the same patients over months, work with their doctors and watch the care add up.

There's also room to grow. You build clinical skills alongside the chiropractors, and there are opportunities to deepen your training and practice in therapies beyond traditional massage. As our massage program grows, your role can grow with it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Provide therapeutic massage as part of a patient's overall care
- Work with patients recovering from injuries, managing long-term pain or coming in to stay well
- Bring in alternative therapies where they fit a patient's care
- Keep treatment notes and coordinate with the chiropractors

WHO YOU ARE

- Licensed massage therapist in Michigan
- Experienced in massage therapy, ideally in a clinical or healthcare setting with rehabilitation techniques
- A clear communicator who can assess client needs
- Compassionate and committed to patient care and well-being
- Professional, reliable and attentive to detail
- Trained and certified in, or interested in learning, therapies beyond traditional massage
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a care team

WHAT WE OFFER

- $25 to $35 an hour
- Part-time or full-time, set weekday schedule
- We handle the booking, so there's no client list to build
- Paid time off and paid sick time

If you're a new massage therapist looking for the right place to start, we'll train you to work in a clinical setting. If you've been practicing a while and want a change, this is a chance to do more clinical work, make room for the therapies you believe in, and keep your evenings and weekends free. Yesterday we opened the doors and you came. Just like you have been since July 26, 1976.

We can’t thank you enough for your outpouring of kindness and support these past few months. So many of you came by yesterday, or have reached out with calls, emails, well wishes and Facebook comments.

All of it means the world to us.
We celebrated all day at the clinic on S. Otsego, in the building that used to be a run down gas station. Some of you were even coming to see us when it still was one!

All summer long we’ve shared old photos and memories. Your stories, Jojo’s Natural Market, the radio show, all the ways we’ve found to reach you over the years. We said at the start that most of this story isn’t ours to tell, and yesterday proved it. The room was full of the people who lived it. Patients who remembered the first clinic on Main St. People who called in to The Road To Wellness on Sunday mornings. Families on their second and third generation of care.

More than anything, people came to say hello. All day we heard stories about the ways this clinic has helped over fifty years, many of them from patients who have been coming for decades.

Congratulations to Steve Stevens, who took home the grill, and to our other grand prize winners: David Anthony, Kammie Bergman, and John M Smith. Thank you to everyone who earned tickets all month by keeping appointments and booking ahead.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff who put the day together. They are the beating heart of Saks Wellness Center!

Fifty years down. Today we are open, same as always.
