Yesterday we opened the doors and you came. Just like you have been since July 26, 1976.
We can’t thank you enough for your outpouring of kindness and support these past few months. So many of you came by yesterday, or have reached out with calls, emails, well wishes and Facebook comments.
All of it means the world to us.
We celebrated all day at the clinic on S. Otsego, in the building that used to be a run down gas station. Some of you were even coming to see us when it still was one!
All summer long we’ve shared old photos and memories. Your stories, Jojo’s Natural Market, the radio show, all the ways we’ve found to reach you over the years. We said at the start that most of this story isn’t ours to tell, and yesterday proved it. The room was full of the people who lived it. Patients who remembered the first clinic on Main St. People who called in to The Road To Wellness on Sunday mornings. Families on their second and third generation of care.
More than anything, people came to say hello. All day we heard stories about the ways this clinic has helped over fifty years, many of them from patients who have been coming for decades.
Congratulations to Steve Stevens, who took home the grill, and to our other grand prize winners: David Anthony, Kammie Bergman, and John M Smith. Thank you to everyone who earned tickets all month by keeping appointments and booking ahead.
A huge thank you to our incredible staff who put the day together. They are the beating heart of Saks Wellness Center!
Fifty years down. Today we are open, same as always.
