As many of you know, Dr. Tyler is getting ready for his military deployment. His last day in the office will be Friday, September 25th. Please keep him in your prayers! We expect him back in the spring.

Is chiropractic care safe for babies?

We’ve been seeing an influx of newborn babies lately (as young as 5 days old!) and figured it would be a good time to make a post answering some of the top questions we are asked about chiropractic care for babies.

“It was recommended to me to take my baby to the chiropractor to help with their excessive spitting up but… is it really safe?”

As parents ourselves, we’ve seen just how much gentle chiropractic care has helped shaped the health of our own children.

Care under the right chiropractor is gentle yet effective in helping remove interferences of the spine that can cause a myriad of symptoms, even in newborns.

“What can I expect during and after my baby’s chiropractic adjustment?”

The doctor will carefully evaluate the baby for signs of stress and will ask questions about the pregnancy and delivery as that knowledge can shed a lot of light on what might be causing symptoms.

The doctor will then gently feel for misalignments of the spine and apply soft pressure to move things back to where they should be.

Often times, babies sleep better and may even have a blow out diaper before you even leave the office (don’t worry, we’ve got diapers and wipes handy too!).

“How often will I need to bring my baby in?”

As each baby is unique, we will provide recommendations based on what your baby is experiencing only. We may recommend one-two visits per week for babies experiencing greater distress whereas a baby with fewer or less extreme symptoms may only need to be seen once per month or as needed.

We will always recommend what we think is best but we know that life happens and we are happy to work with you on what works well with your time and finances.

As always, do your research before deciding on any type of care for your baby. As scary and overwhelming as parenting can be, know that you have a special instinct for what is best for your own children.

Our hours look a little different for the next week so we wanted to give you an update! Dr. Tyler will be here limited hours as he has military training. Keep him in mind as he is preparing to serve our country this fall.

Dr. Jared and Morgan will be in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
